This is a thoroughly enjoyable game.
Alright, first of all, I would actually give a 9/10 because it's not perfect. Nonetheless, I thought that it was a great game. It has a unique style, a good story-line, and decent gameplay. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I'm sure that many other people who don't prioritize graphics (considering this is an SNES game) would enjoy it too. It's one of my favorite RPG games. For the SNES, I would probably choose between Earthbound and Final Fantasy III. Final Fantasy II was pretty good, and Chrono Trigger was pretty great too, but I wouldn't rank them higher than Earthbound and Final Fantasy III. In the end, a summary of everyone's preference is what determines whether a game is great, and this is one of my preferences for the SNES. It's fun, worthwhile, and plays as most RPGs but in its own way. I think that the price has gone to high for it, but I bought it anyways because I like experiencing games on their primary console. If you're like me, and like to play SNES games on the SNES and not on roms, and if you think that you will like Earthbound, I would recommend getting it or at least borrowing it if you know someone who has it.

This a great game overall; one of my favorites.
To be more accurate, I would rate this game an 8.6 out of 10, which is pretty decent considering I'm usually a harsh critic. Earthbound is my favorite on SNES with a 9.0, FFVI is second with 8.8, Chrono Trigger is third with 8.7, and you get the point. Anyways, it's a fun game with a good variety of specializations among characters, and I believe that this game is very under-appreciated. The story-line is okay, and the translation isn't very good, but the game is still great overall. It's a difficult game, so if you get frustrated because you can't move on in the game, come up with a strategy. I mean, come on--games are not very fun if they're straightforward and simple. If you agree with what I have just said, then you might like this game. I don't suggest spending $20 or more for the game just to try it out, though. Give it a try on an emulator, and if you like it and want one for your own, buy a copy.
