Prepare to lose track of time
You wouldn't have been wrong to come into Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock with some sense of trepidation. With original Guitar Hero developer Harmonix off the project and Tony Hawk creators Neversoft now on board, it would be fair to wonder if anything that made the wildly popular rhythm game franchise so awesome would be lost in the shuffle. The good news is that Guitar Hero III is Guitar Hero through and through. The core gameplay that fans love hasn't changed outside of some basic tweaks, and the long and varied tracklist is the best of any game in the series to date. If there are any chinks in the armor of this sequel, it's that some of the newer mode additions and a few odd design decisions do more to get in the way of the fun than anything else. Likewise, the extreme difficulty of some of the game's more severe songs might end up turning off newer players. Those issues aside, it's hard to argue with what Guitar Hero III offers from a content perspective, especially if you're a longtime fan of the franchise.

The Best Car Combat Game Around
Incognito (formerly Singltrac, now known as Eat,Sleep,Play) is pure GENIUS!!! Twisted Metal:Black builds on the fun known as Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2:World Tour. Original characters return, but are total redone. The new characters are outstanding. The levels are stunning and beautiful, but also very dark. You'll fight in Downtown, Suburbs with a circus rolling through, a Junkyard, and ,of course, Skyscrapers. But, those are not all the levels, there are TONS more. Each environment is amazingly interactive. The streets are littered with traffic to destroy, people to run over/vaporize into little meaty chunks with a missile, and tons of other stuff to destroy. Plus, even stuff OUTSIDE the environment is destructible like "gas balls". With all this destruction and awesomeness, could a game ever be better? If you do not already own this game,go out and GET IT!!!!!

An OK Game
The best thing the PlayStation 2 version of Sony's NBA series has had going for it during the past few years has been The Life. The gameplay has never been great, but the well-written storylines of The Life have made a strong foundation for a franchise in sore need of an identity. It's too bad that SCEA has been unable to build upon that foundation with solid gameplay. That was the problem last year and is once again the problem this year. In fact, other than a different storyline, 07 and 08 are virtually indistinguishable for one another.
