Canon VIXIA HF S100 Camcorder - Black

Warning -- may not work/will NOT properly recognize modern SD cards!
There is a known issue with this camera and most firmware versions, that do not recognize modern SD/SDHC memory cards and will restrict the mode you can record video in (only lower resolutions). There is NO WAY the user can fix this. It requires a firmware update by Canon at the factory -- not sure if they're still doing it since it's an old camcorder now. Higher-class SDHC cards are required to run high resolution recording and the camera may not recognize modern cards and won't allow you to record in full-bandwidth HD. It's very annoying, but if you don't need high def recording, the camera is adequate. Also, another reviewer says this camera records video at 4k. That's completely false. The highest resolution video this camera can capture is 1920x1080. Standard HD.. NOT 4k.. not anywhere near 4k. Source: I own 6 of these cameras. They're good cameras, but they won't record high quality video on any of the latest SD cards (good luck finding some older 32GB low-class SD cards), and they won't recognize any SD card higher than 32GB - at all. Put a 64GB SD and it won't recognize the card at all.

not ready for regular use
There appear to be some design flaws in this and it doesn't work well. Can't recommend the JPAC. Certain button combinations will cause odd signals to be send to the unit causing unpredictable results.
