A maths book for artistic creative types with an inquiring mind.
This is a great book for people who think they don't like maths! I discovered it a few years ago at my local library when i was learning to teach maths to adult learners and looking for inspiration. It is written for school age learners but the content is for any age. It brings out the magic behind maths in an easy to follow way, covering topics like tessellation and number sequences which are then related to patterns seen in life. It gives brief histories of the discoverers of the topics covered and makes you want to go find out more for yourself. It has lots of fascinating information which gets you really interested, without being too complex. I would say it's an ideal book for young learners of about 10 and upwards and also adults who only learnt traditional maths. A maths book for artistic creative types. I bought it for my dad who also thinks it's great and he was a mechanical engineer!
