hard to imagine what it must of sounded like the 20s
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. as a lot of critics say re: louis armstrong...it's is hard to imagine (in this day & age) how this music sounded to early 1920-era ears...there really was no improvisation, be it jazz, classical, blues, etc....he really was full of ideas which sound familiar now, but were astounding at the time...also, i read alot of criticism of the restoration that columbia performed on these 78-based recordings...i think they sound fine, but you must realize the way these were recorded...some were done using an acoustical cone to capture the sound waves...i've spent several hours re-reading "pop's" while listening to these discs...it's enjoyable and does remind me of how i felt in 1967-8 when i first heard cream's sunshine of your love...it changed how i heard & viewed from that moment on...

Fair price for an average DMP
it's a small sized mp3 player for less than $100...it has, at 16 gb, more than enough on-board storage...with 8g micro sdhc cards so cheap ( $20) i have been able to rip close to 200 cds from my collection...i bought this product because i will be spending some time out of the country wanted to have some tunes to drown out the noise of a very large 3rd world asian country

tomato delta blues compilation
if you like delta blues (just a man & a guitar) then you'll like this compilation cd...is it all inclusive? no way, but i bought it because i wanted arthur "big boy" crudup's original version of "that's all right (mama)" which elvis rode to superstardom...but be warned - it appears that a muddy waters song (not sure of song title) has been substituted for for peg leg sam's "navaho trail"...it was not enough of a deal breaker for me to return it...
