Blackberry's Stormy Climate
The Blackberry Storm 9530 was given to me by a friend. I loved the idea that I could download applications, view real-time internet pages, and send/receive email. I still like this phone, however I do have several intermittent issues which adversely affect functionality. The first issue is when the phone is charging, the phone will often freeze. It will not send/receive phone calls or SMS Messages. The only way to un-freeze the phone is to remove the battery and re-start the phone. The phone inevitably takes several minutes to boot back up. Another issue is my phone turns off randomly. This is very frustrating, because again, once you turn the phone on, It takes several minutes to boot up. I have gone to Verizon 3 times to replace the battery, but to no avail. I’ll probably keep the phone until my contract is up. Otherwise, I love this phone and the real-time internet. Some phones must resort to special ‘Mobile’ sites, while Blackberry provides real internet. It can also be linked to your social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace, making it convenient for you to keep in touch with friends!

The Female of the Species is More Deadly than the Male
Kelly Oliver presents an informative, yet controversial book regarding the Iraq war. Here, she ascertains the notion that women are used as war weapons- both figuratively and literally. What once was Rosie the Riviter encouraging women to join the forces, are now Jessica Lynch and Shoshana Johnson, two females who were idolized for their contributions to the war, yet were Prisoners of War for months. Their beautiful faces were used as a form of propaganda justifying the infiltration of Iraq. Lynndie England, a female Army member, was most notable in this book due to her interrogation tactics and mistreatment of Iraqi Prisoners of War. England subjected numerous prisoners to physical and psychological abuse, in the name of the war. Kelly Oliver analyzes these key players, as well as the behavior of female suicide bombers in Iraq. She carefully describes exactly how women are used as weapons of war.

HP DV6Z AMD Athlon Processor Notebook Computer
I decided to purchase this laptop from the manufacturers website. I did my research and discovered this was the most cost-effective for me. As a student, they offer discounts to qualifying schools. They also offer discounts based on professions and specific employers. The laptop is great. It includes a remote for ease-of-use, and has a huge screen. I am able to watch movies on the screen with great quality. I am also able to play various video games without any glitches. As a student, I do take my laptop to school, as well as numerous other locations. An issue I have found is the battery life. To preserve my battery during a class, I must put my computer in ‘Power Save’ mode. This reduces system performance, and does reduce the screen brightness. By the time my 2-hour class is over, I usually have 20% or less remaining. It is necessary to take your power source with you, as this computer does suck the battery dry. It is also a bit heavier than a normal laptop, but it does fit in a backpack nicely.
