Choosing a Sony Playstation 3
3 personnes sur 3 ont jugé cet avis utile. The Sony Playstation 3 is a good system although it is underrated by the fact they have limited library of good games. The blu ray technology is going to be used for future games and I like the system because it is more of a system beyond gaming where you can stream movies and other media. You can also install (optional) Linux operating system. Also unlike the Xbox 360 where you have difficulty saving money and not buying their expensive version, you can buy a harddrive and install yourself cheaply than the Xbox360. I have to agree that the online play is not strong as the Xbox 360. Microsoft has a robust online service which is better than Sony's online service.
The good thing about the service is that if you like Sony's first console game releases, you can get them to download. You also have the option to play games from all regions. For example, I wanted to buy the game Drake's Fortune: Uncharted. The price when I was looking was around $38 dollars for a copy. I learned because of the blu ray/HD technology that Sony offer's region free gaming while Xbox360 does on many of their games. I decided to buy the European version and I saved about $14 dollars in doing so.
The 40gb version lacks from the 20gb and 60gb for ps2 compatibility but if you want to play ps2 games you can buy a ps2 more cheaply than before which I saw some for $65 dollars and up. So the system is not too expensive and you can play PS2 games. I have a PS2 so I have no problems when wanting to play old ps2 games. Another negative is that the controller slots/usb slots are only 2 compared to the 60gb version. There is also no Super Audio Cd compatibility or media card inserter. You can buy a hub and media card to be inserted in one of the usb ports to read the memory card for extra and add extra devices.
Sony had to cut corners for this version because many people who wanted to buy the system told them that paying $500 and $600 dollars was way to much. So instead they introduced the new versions of the 40gb and 80gb for $400 and $500 dollars. I bought the 40gb second hand. One thing to be mindful when buying second hand is to check to see if the blu ray drive is working. If not you have to pay $150 dollars to Sony to get a new one.
Overall Sony made a good system and for those you want to play ps2 games considering getting a PS2 Slim at a low price and buy the 40gb version it is a good set up and you will save money since the current 80gb does not have ps2 compatibiliy only the earlier version do as the MotorStorm Pack and MGS4 Pack. It is a good system and I suggest many to look into this system since it has great potential.

Good Sequel to the epic first person shooter
Story:
Gears of War 2 is the sequel to the futuristic apocalypictic first person shooter by Epic Games in November 2008. This tells the story of how humans colonized the planet Sera and were using the resource called ammution which you can think is oil but they disturbed the creatures who lived underground and now are in a war with them. At the end of the first game Marcus (soldier who went awol and in military prison who was given another chance for freedom by joining COG again) defeats the Locust horde general and it seems that they might win the war. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case sense the Locust are sinking cities and trying to sink the last Human stronghold: Jinato and thus bring humanity to extinction.
Gameplay:
Similar to Gears of War where they re-introduce the player with his back against the war and being able to hop over benches and hiding places from the Locust Horde. There is a new feature such as getting revived by nearby Computer (and Human) player when you are hurt and the screen is red. Also, with downloaded content there is a new score system which rates you on how you kill the Locust Horde.
Control:
Control for the most part is solid; although I would say that at times targeting is a not quick sometimes when trying to defeat an enemy also the fact of reloading when you need to kill the enemy is something that most gamers do not want when playing the game. The game controls are good and this is shown immensely when you play the game.
Overall:
Gears of War 2 is definitely a good sequel to Epic Games highly ranked product that reintroduced a unique style of first person shooter. This is a definite game for people who like first person shooters and the current price tag should make people to be able to get this game for a reasonable price. This game keeps the good working old formula while showing the player new features that make the game more appealing for gamers and better muliplayer which is something beyond the single campaign if you decide to want to play beyond the single player campaign.
