Strong fan with the design flaw of weak plastic
For operations where the fan runs and oscillates constantly such as a greenhouse? The power of the motor works against you. Because the strong torque will undermine the integrity of the plastic around the metal holding the fan assembly to the base. It will crack and then break after about 4 months of non-stop running. If you don't oscillate it will last about a year before the motor just stops. One lasted 11 months before failing. Probably from dust accumulation. It has a short life with everyday use. I've owned four of these. Only one made it past a year. The last one when the base cracked from oscillation was returned to the manufacturer under warranty. The Squaretrade warranty I bought was thus not applicable. That was perhaps 8 months ago. Holmes has not contacted me by e-mail or by letter. No refund. No replacement. No communication. This is not for agricultural applications. Probably for any application it has a very limited life span. I kept buying it because it is compact and strong. Strong torque, strong blast of air. And I thought perhaps Holmes was honest about their warranty. They are not. The unit has a design flaw. A motor too powerful for the strength of the plastic. It torques itself to death. It gathers dust like crazy because it is so strong and it is about impossible to clean it without blasting it with compressed air. If you can get it past a year, the Square Trade warranty is OK and you are golden. If not, both the fan and the Square Trade expenses are complete wastes of money. Your odds are probably 50/50 with normal use.

A lot of power in a small package
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. Surprisingly loud when cranked. Excellent sound. Decent bass. But not meant for gaming or adding other devices although there is a USB port on front of receiver. Designed to be a stand-alone unit. Great for smaller living rooms, smaller game room, or dorm room. If you have a larger room, you should buy a more powerful unit with a better Sub.

Probably No Better Beginners Package
Purchased at the direction of my teacher. Also purchased Essential Strings 2000 for Electric Bass Book I. Beginners level, both books. Easy to follow for a fast start, instructional video has a retro feel, but still effective. Haven't used audio disc yet. Recommend instructor for finger exercises; beginners with small hands or shorter fingers may find the stretch difficult even with the 30 inch Bass. Progressing faster than I thought I could with these books. Probably nothing better out there, and I went to or called numerous music and book stores before ordering from the web. Couldn't find Book 1 any where; only Books 2 and 3 were ever on the shelves.
