A gem for genuine South Park/Trey & Matt fans
There's a reason many people didn't get this show. Most people apparently are not ready to sit down and watch parody when it doesn't involve pop culture (family guy) or pop movie nonsense (X movie). Trey Parker and Matt Stone are certainly not so limited. Many people simply saw this show as a bad sitcom, and couldn't put their head around the notion a show parodying sitcom cliches, all the while reaching amazing heights of silliness, and aggrandeur by using the first family as subject matter.
It's similar to being able to really laugh at Team America: World Police, especially how it parodies bad action movie dialogue. If you truly appreciate the genius of Trey & Matt and you haven't given this show a shot, then uh, well, you're dead inside.
