Original Fender Vintage Pickup Set is a Great 'Bang for the Buck' !
5 personnes sur 5 ont jugé cet avis utile. I've been playing Guitar since I was 12 years old and I'm 63 now. I have had most of the REALLY High End Guitars and, naturally, still do have quite a few of them. However, one of the things I began doing over the years as I learned not just more regarding playing but about the Craftsmanship involved in building Guitars. I have lived in Boston all of my life and long gone are the days of 'Great Pawn Shop Finds'. This and the knowledge I've accumulated as to what goes into making a simply GOOD Guitar started me on a path where I would find a GOOD Clone of specific Guitar Model Type for LOW money and then proceed to rebuild it with all necessary components to simply do just that; i.e., transform a Low End Guitar into a GOOD and reliable piece while naturally taking Tone and it's ability to be able to play well BUT far below what you would pay for the Original Brand Name Model. I've done this very successfully on quite a few pieces over the years now and have even sold a few at a decent profit ! But that is NOT why I do this; I do this because I enjoy it and end up with Guitars that my fellow Player friends themselves are envious of. Long story short; Sure, I could've bought an expensive set of another type of Fender Tele Pickups but these really DO give you a solid Tele sound and depending on your Rig, of course, can stand right up to MANY of the higher priced sets. The end story is that the 'Clone' Tele I purchased NEW for 'a Song' now plays AND sounds nearly as good as my other American Tele. And you know that 'thing' where Players say they bought a GOOD Lower End Back Up Guitar so they don't have to worry about it if was stolen or severely damaged ? Hey, I get such a 'Kick' out of these what I call 'Sleeper' Guitars, i.e., others see the Headstock and think I'm crazy UNTIL I PLUG IT IN and begin playing it then it's an entirely different story and ones that I love that IF one of these were stolen or badly damaged I'd be just as bummed out as I would be about my 'High End Brand Name' Guitars. (And, OBVIOUSLY, I'm NOT talking about RARE, VINTAGE Guitars here.) Do it ONCE yourself to a model you like and you'll be hooked !

Renowned Boston Band, Reddy Teddy's 2 CD Compilation
I 1st Discovered Reddy Teddy Opening For Aerosmith, (WELL BEFORE Aerosmith Was Nothing More Than Just Another Local Popular Boston Band Who You Could EASILY See Playing Various Venues Around The Boston & New Hampshire Areas For No More Than $2.00! 'Dream On' Was WAY Downstream In Terms Of 'Breaking' Nation-Wide, 1st Played By Maxanne Sartori, a Disc Jockey @ Boston's Beloved WBCN, Who Actually Went On Later To Manage Reddy Teddy For Awhile.), The Venue Reddy Teddy & Aerosmith Played That Night Was At A VERY NICE Wedding Reception Hall, 'Monticello's', On RT.9, In Framingham. The Crowd That Was There, I Will Admit, Was There To See Aerosmith & Were Waiting For Nothing LESS Than Some 'Down And Dirty', 'Straight Ahead', Ass Kicking, Rock! SO, Out Comes Reddy Teddy; They Were Well Into Their 4th or 5th Song, I REMEMBER IT VIVIDLY, And The Crowd Was DELIGHTED With What They Were Hearing/Seeing. BUT, At That Point EVERYONE Thought They Were Seeing Aerosmith! This Is NOT To Say Reddy Teddy In ANY WAY Mimicked Aerosmith's Style! RT, In Fact, Had Their OWN UNIQUE Style That MORE Than Satisfied This ROCK-CRAZED Crowd! It Was About Then The Crowd Realized Reddy Teddy Was NOT Aerosmith. This Did NOT STOP Us From Contininuig To 'Hoop & Holler' & Just Generally ROCK To Reddy Teddy LIKE CRAZY! THAT Was IT For ME; I Began Following Reddy Teddy Steadfastedly In The Boston Rock Circuit. It Wasn't Long At All Before Reddy Teddy's & My Mutual PASSION For The Above Mentioned Style Of Rock Developed Into A Close Friendship And They Actaually Offered Me A PAYING Job 'Roadieing' For Them. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! NOW, Instead Of MY Paying To See ONE Of The GREATEST AMERICAN Rock Bands Of ALL Time, (Playboy's Music Poll In Their 'Best Local Bands' Section, April, 1977, Called Reddy Teddy "The BEST New American Band, PERIOD."), I Was Going To Get PAID To Travel With Them ALL OVER New England & New York, Listen To Them, Right Up On Stage With Them, And Enjoy ALL The Accompanying 'Perks', (GIRLS!), Of Working For A Top Rock Band. Understand THIS, However, NOT ONCE Did They Treat Me Anything Other Than As A Friend, And I ONLY HELPED Them! They ALWAYS Participated In Loading/Unloading, Setting Up/Breaking Down The Equipment! At Times, After They Paid Off All Their Costs Associated With Traveling, Hotel Costs, Food Costs, Liqour, etc., I Would Actually End Up With MORE MONEY In My Pocket Than The Band, BUT NOW, Back To The POINT Of THIS Review; The 2CD Set: This Is A Compilation Of ALL Of Reddy Teddy's EARLY Work, Including The NEVER BEFORE RELEASED, (Due To The HIGH Cost Of Petroleum Used In Manufacturing Vinyl & GASOLINE, For Those Of You Who Remember The LONG Lines Just To Get A Few Gallons Of Gas), Mercury Album, The Drummer On The Album @ That Point In Time Was Joe Marino,Jr. & His Father, Joe Marino,Sr., A Prominent Attorney, Went Up Against Mercury's ARMY Of Lawyers & WON The Rights To The Master Tapes For That Album! Also Included Is Reddy Teddy's Indie 'Spoonfed' Label Album As Well As An Abundance Of Matthew's, (McKenzie, Who To EVERYONE'S Disfortune Passed Away At A Very Youn Age.),Tunes Before & After He Established Reddy Teddy. Fender Almost Marries Gibson
It's absolutely a great Strat but with the Shawbucker Humbucker in the Bridge position even a Die Hard Gibson Player would be amazed with THIS Strat, !!!
