Great for the Family, Extra Lines or Budget Minded.
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. In its time, this was the phone that paved the way for todays phones. It is probably the best phone you can get for the budget minded. If you have kids, or looking to have extra lines you need this phone.
It is a flip phone. The reception is great. The color screen is excellent. I beleive it is one of the first to include GPS and Text Messaging and downloading Features. Multi pearsonlition features available.
I had this phone several years ago and for some reason, I get nostalgic for it. I dropped it may times and it NEVER went wrong. You got a color screen inside, and an outside screen as well (To see the number before answering it).
It has a cool aluminum casing and is the perfect size and weight to keep in a pouch or pocket.
The phone can be used as an FM radio should you purchase the special headset made buy Motorola (or a black market company). Verizon offered it on this model T-Mobile didn't (If you bought the phone through them) There is absolutely no charge for using this feature. You could navigate the FM stations by simply using the color screen. The Headset has both ear sets and should you receive a call, it would interupt the music, and and you could choose to answer or ignore call with a push of a button. You don't have to take off the headset because it has an attached mike as well.
There are many accessories for this phone. There is also a camera piece you can attach should you want to purchase (may not be available for Verizon users).
Consider buying this phone in bulk should you need more than one.
In its time I would rate this phone 5 of five. I rate it 4 of five only because advances have been made. Still it could have everything you want in a phone a at a cheap cost. Its a classic, you won't regret or look un cool in with.
You should see the T730 aswell. No real advances on the phone though so stick with the inovator not the duplicator.
The T730 did not last long anyway; They only looked different cosmetically. Weight, size, functions remained the same to me, in my estimation

Let's do the comparisons w. others ok. First of all, this is the advanced version of the V710. The diferrences you ask... The V710 does not have Vcast (See Videos, news, etc.)the E810 does. Cosmetically, the V710 has a Grey/silver housing with a black tab in the middle of it. The E815 housing is all Grey/silver. Personally the black tab looks nicer but they are interchangable and easy to get on eBay. Which brings me to accessories.
Since the E815 and the V710 are identical physically, ALL accessories for one fit the other. Since the E815 is a new item many of the accessories are expensive and to few. Try finding the same items for the V710 and you will see you will have a much larger selection at a much lower price. For you young kids out there, check out Pouches, Antennas, Batteries, Housing, Skins and most importantly, PC downloads via CD Rom. Check them all out via eBay. Again check under eBay (under V710 and E815) for a LARGE selection at a cheaper price than retail.
Other ammenities are the downloads you can make. the phone can also accept a sim card for a greater memory capacity. Great for more music (like having an MP3), pictures, and videos.
Most people are not aware of this but phone is also a portable FM Radio as well. Motorola sells a headset that once installed recognizes the FM feature. Should a call comes in, the phone will ring and you can switch from phone to radio by pressing a button. You don't have to off take the headset at all because the set has a mike hanging bellow the chin. There are similar ones you can get on eBay as well.
The phone is Bluetooth capable, get it now features (like ringtones, and is a GPS as well.
The phone is rugged. You drop or put pressure on a Razr or any other slim phone and you can forget it.
Finally, Don't purchase a clip for or pouch for this item until you see the Heavy Duty or Rugged pouches/Clip available.
Before deciding on a phone visit your phone companies compatible phones. Compare them, then consider amennities/accesories for it. Bottom line,
All you Verizon Users, this is probably your best bang for the buck today.
