Someone asked me to introduce them to Jeff's music and I didn't want to loan out my copy. I bought this as it was such a good price - and made someone happy.

Worth listening to rather than just hearing
I bought this mainly because I enjoy music performed outside the constraints of the studio production search for technical perfection. Any live take is preferred. Extra so, if on radio where few care about how they look at that time. This one (Vol. 4) has tracks by a favourite three of mine (Radiohead; Jeff Buckley; Tom Waits) and did not disappoint.

I wish I hadn't seen this yet - it's that good!
2 personnes sur 2 ont jugé cet avis utile. I bought this because I'm a sucker for quality. When this was released as a feature film 40 years ago it received eight Academy Award nominations. Only recently available on DVD, the cast list is to dream for. Actors who don't look like they are playing a part - they 'are' the characters they represent. It is Peter Bogdanovich's finest film. Shot in black and white it makes the viewer feel what it is like for young people hopeless in a dying Texas town. The contrasting characters relate to each other in believable ways in an episodic, human story in powerful ways that almost leave you breathless. Although the Soecial Feature add little - this is the Director's Cut, a guy hailed as another Orson Welles, even!
