Least favorite of the four films

Not hard to remember 2001 when the original "Shrek" came out. It beat my favorite Disney/Pixar film "Monsters Inc" for the 1st Best Animated Film Oscar.

An original idea and funny. The 2cd film was very good, not quite as good as the original.

The 3rd film was NOT anywhere near as good as the first two films. The Arthur character & how it was written.

So, we get to this film. Supposed to be the last "Shrek" film That will remain to be seen.

NOT an original idea seeing what would happen if. That has surely been done before, so the character see how good they have it after complaining about it.

I say this for positive, I thought the film would be worse. Just the laughs are far between. . Notice the Arthur character they brought in for the 3rd film is NOT EVEN TALKED ABOUT HERE. Took a while to get to any good Donkey or Puss scenes.

The funny side characters from the first three films were barely used. Minor Pinocchio, Dragon, Gingy, etc.

OK, THEY STOLE THE END OF "BEAUTY & THE BEAST". Spoiler, the kiss.

A few extras on here. DVD DESIGNED YOU ARE FORCED TO WATCH PREVIEWS INSIDE OF GOING TO THE MENU.

A few extras.

NO chapter search list & a major complaint that you see more & more of. Has one of these cheap, INTENTIONAL HOLES IN THE DVD PLASTIC CASE. I HATE these things. Terrible, cheap & your DVD can get damaged.

Just so you have to buy another & they make more money.

To sum up. This film is the worst of the four films. It is watchable BUT no where close to the original 2001 film.

Great Family Movie!!

I highly recommend watching the 'Shrek' movies from first to last. I say this because you watch how the characters develop. Meeting new characters and seeing how they interact. Bad and good, both have an effect on one another. Quite interesting I think for the children - and even adults - to watch and maybe learn a thing or two! I highly recommend the entire series!Lire l'avis complet...

Shrek's mid-life crisis brings the series to a perfect ending.

Shrek's perfect life with Fiona and the children becomes mundane and he begins to long for the old days when he was a "real" ogre. In this entertaining film Shrek gets his wish only to find out what the world would be like without him. He realizes the purpose and perfection of the life he was tired of and longs to get it back. But he will need the help of his friends Donkey and Puss (who don't know him) and his beloved Fiona (who doesn't know or love him.) Fun for the whole family and character building lessons.Lire l'avis complet...

Saved the best for last

Billed as the final movie in the Shrek series. Shrek Forever After finds Shrek (Mike Myers) finding his life at home to be less than exciting. He dreams of the days when he was a real Ogre. He meets up with Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn) who promises to give him one day of life as it used to be, in exchange, Shrek must give him one day. Shrek agrees and soon finds out that he was tricked and must figure out how to get his life back.

This is (in my opinion) the best of the Shrek movies. There are so many laughs in this one that it was difficult to follow the movie. The writers out did themselves with funny comments, faces of the characters and action.

You difinately do not want to miss this one.

The cast of this movie are: Main Cast: Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, Walt Dohrn as Rumpelstiltskin, Conrad Vernon as Gingy (Gingerbread Man), Aron Warner as Big Bad Wolf, Christopher Knights as Three Blind Mice, Cody Cameron as Pinocchio, Three Little Pigs, Julie Andrews as Queen Lillian.
Supporting Cast: Jon Hamm as Brogan the Ogre, Craig Robinson as Cookie the Ogre, Jane Lynch as Gretched the Ogre, John Cleese as King Harold, Chris Miller as Magic Mirror, Mr. Geppetto, Kristen Schaal as Pumpkin Witch, Palace Witch, Mary Kay Place as Guard Witch, Meredith Vieira as Broomsy Witch, Kathy Griffin as Taran, Lake Bell as Patrol Witch, Wagon Witch #2, Jeremy Steig as Pied Piper, Regis Philbin as Mabel the Ugly Stepsister, Ryan Seacrest as Butter Pants' father., Mike Mitchell as Butter Pants, and Justin Timberlake as Arthur Pendragon.

The best of the Shrek movies

I find this Shrek Forever After to be the best of all the Shrek movies. It is funny, relatable, entertaining and heartwarming. Rumplestiltskin plays an evil but funny character in this one.

Shrek Forever After

For the last in the series, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting more of what had become one of my favorite movie series. Don't get me wrong, it was good, it just didn't measure up to my anticipation of what I hoped would be that huge fairy tale ending. It did resolve everything and sum it all up, just not in a way I had become used to by the earlier installments. Worth seeing and owning, I wish it had more of a feeling the other movies gave me when it was over.Lire l'avis complet...

Must Own for the Shrek fan at a magnificent price !

For fans of the Shrek Saga, they will find themselves rooting for Shrek after he makes a deal (which goes horribly wrong) with the sinister Rumplestiltskin. More of the faery tale madcap adventures are involved, and those of us who have read or seen Faust will understand the 'selling one's soul to the devil' references. This ties up all the loose ends and has some hysterical moments with Donkey and Puss, who really steal the show in the final volume. It's very touching and heartfelt but not for littler kids who may not understand why Fiona is acting the way she is in this version. This is a fitting end to a marvelous story with good morals and values.Lire l'avis complet...

The Final Chapter :(

This Shrek is about what happens after Happily ever after. Shrek is happily married, has three wonderful children, and his best friends are a talking donkey and a talking cat bounty hunter. Awesome life right? Apparently not in Shrek's point of view. This chapter in the Shrek saga teaches you don't know what you have until it's taken away from you. It is (in my opinion) the best Shrek in the series (mainly because this one isn't as gross as the rest of them). Not that I don't like the first three. It's just that this one doesn't have as much farting in it. I'm excited about Puss in Boots this Nov.Lire l'avis complet...
