BellSouth CI-7112 Visual Director Caller-ID with Voicemail Control

I don't know; this thing reads more like Chinese stereo instructions, kind of difficult to follow, so I re-boxed it for now. Perhaps I'll attempt to connect it If the display on my new phone goes bad.

I bought this thing in a panic when the display on my cordless phone went bad; it was the second one in three years that did and the second time I had to build a new phone book for it. I should go ahead and install this thing but I languish in the prospect of building another phone book for this thing if the display in my new phone goes bad.

Given the display technology of these phones, it is only inevitable that it will... Woe is me :-(

Don't get me wrong, the quality of this caller ID is exceptionally good, and very sturdy; built like a brick S---house; but I just don't have the patience to learn new tricks right nowLire l'avis complet

Caller ID readout

This is a much more satisfactory than the Radio Shack unit I had been using. I like the line voltage operation rather than replacing batteries constantly as with the Radio Shack unit. It has many features I don't need (I only use it to see who's calling at a given time) but you can't beat the price. Huge value; highly recommended.Lire l'avis complet

Bellsouth caller ID CI-7112 - JUNK

Set it up and it worked two times then it tripped out a block of lines at the phone company we only found this out after the phone company came out to reset my line after resetting after a few minutes the block of lines tripped again they then connected my line to a different block and then that block tripped so it was my line that had the propblem the phone guy said that he thinks the Bellsouth caller ID is the problem so we disconnected it and now no more problems with the phone line. So now the Bellsouth caller ID CI-7112 was sent directly to the trash can. Lire l'avis complet

Practical device with necessary features and more.

Although having many unnecessary functions, the device does what is needed. The device shows the ID of callers so that nuisance calls may be avoided. Nice little machine, limited manual

Although the caller ID is well built, with many dedicated buttons (= no multi functions by pressing a specific button three times, which I do not like), the manual is rather limited in explaining the basic functions. Bell customers have plenty of extra options, which I do not use/need. It can be used as a simple caller ID, showing the caller on a multi line display. Good as a caller ID

Difficult to set up voice mail. This works well as a caller ID, but the other functions are difficult to set up. The instructions are too vague, do not translate well.

A Real Geek's Dream

Double push here, double push there: Gimme a break!

Entering VM dial sequence: Fuhgeddaboudit! Over and over and over while the time
is FLYING by.

It's my second unit. I learned from the first. This one, plug the stuff in, jam some batteries in
and pay no attention to all the bells and whistles. I can dial my VM with 3 buttons, and
don't need to hear malarkey.

Perfect Old School Caller ID Unit

I bought this caller ID box for an older phone and it works perfectly. It was very easy to set up and I now know who's calling before getting trapped by a telemarketer or other unwanted caller!

Overall, great features, great price.

It's perfect to screen calls, see the history of calls and still keep a landline free of the damaging wifi, RF, EMF signals that come with the portable handsets. I don't have the answering service set up, as I don't have that service through my phone company. But it's no bother really. I'm sure it would work perfectly if I chose to add the service.
