Weak mounting bracket
I'll admit I was sucked in by the price and should have known better. I am 6 foot and 205 lbs. and the mounting bracket bends backwards and down and then hits the rear fender when I lean against it. To be fair this might be because I do not have the rear seat mounted on the bike as I prefer the look of only one seat. The backrest bracket may be designed to rest against the rear seat but if that is true it should say so in the sales ad and the instructions. Even if the mounting bracket is designed to rest against the rear seat I would think it would eventually wear through the seat cover. I installed a half inch of padding between the bracket and fender but due to the winter weather have not had a chance to ride the bike to try it out. l wouldn't recommend this backrest.
It's somewhat easy to install once you are able to slip mount bracket into place (a third hand makes it easier). It slips in and out of the bracket easily enough, looks good but l find it doesn't come forward enough to really be viable as a back rest and it could be a little higher as well. I am tall (6'4") and l find you have to slide right back in the seat and it still doesn't support you very well and it's a a bit short. My other bike the backrest supports you beautifully and it's higher as well and adjustable. I wish it came forward alot more than it does, it barely comes to the very back of the seat and the foam in the pad is not very sense and squishes very easily so not supportive like a high density foam.It's somewhat easy to install once you are able to slip mount bracket into place (a third hand makes it easier). Don't know how I ever rode without this
The backrest fit perfectly on my 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. It was a little tricky to get it installed, but definitely worth it. It definitely helps support the lower back when riding and is very comfortable. It matches the styling of the bike well also. It looks like it belongs there. It is easily removable for when you would want to remove it, although, once installed you may not want to remove it. Excellent product at an affordable price.The backrest fit perfectly on my 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. It was a little tricky to get it installed, but definitely worth it. It definitely helps support the lower back when riding and is very comfortable. It matches the styling of the bike well also. It looks like it belongs there. It is easily removable for when you would want to remove it, although, once installed you may not want to remove it. Excellent product at an affordable price.

feels better than I expected.
It was easy to put on. It holds up better than I thought it would. So for the price I am happy. Still waiting on a long ride of 4-5 hours.
