DICE and Electronic Arts tackle the modern age of warfare with Battlefield 3 for the Xbox 360. Unlike previous Battlefield games, Battlefield 3 contains a single-player campaign. In this story, you take on the role of four different soldiers at various points in time. The story sees you fighting in Paris, Iraq, and other countries in a fictional war in the year 2014. By jumping to different characters at various points, all sides of the story are explored. This storytelling approach gives insights to the heroes and villains, providing a unique layer of depth to this conflict. The story mode in Battlefield 3 takes roughly six hours to finish. However, after the story mode is finished, the real Battlefield experience begins. The true heart of this Battlefield 3 game is its multiplayer mode. In this game mode, players take to the land and air to defeat the opposing force. Match types range from killing all the soldiers on the enemy team to taking and defending tactical positions. The game includes over 10 maps, each with different environments and obstacles to overcome. There are four roles players can take in multiplayer, each one changing the gameplay significantly. The Assault class is best suited for dealing with other troops. This class primarily uses assault rifles and machine guns in combat. The Support class provides the Assault class with ammunition. This class also uses light machine guns to lay down covering fire. The Engineer class uses high-powered explosives to destroy enemy vehicles. Lastly, the Recon class handles long-range warfare using their sniper rifles. In Battlefield 3, gamers can get behind the wheel of a variety of vehicles. You can pilot everything from trucks to tanks. The Frostbite 2?game engine can portray the damage caused to the environment by these tanks. For example, driving through a wall using a tank creates an opening for your team. The damage done to the environment will stay throughout the remainder of the game. When a match ends, the map looks significantly different from how it started. You can also leave the ground and take to the skies. Gamers can pilot a variety of different aircraft, fighting against both ground troops and other planes. Each vehicle has its own strengths and weaknesses. Like other Battlefield games, as you play and win matches, you will increase your soldier's rank. With each new rank, you can unlock and store additional accessories and weapons for your player. These accessories can change the entire battle when used properly. For example, some accessories let you spot enemies in the distance, letting you get the drop on an opponent. This Xbox shooter game has some of the highest audio quality on the Xbox 360. You'll hear the bullets whizzing by your head and the explosions in the distance. The sound is important, as it will let you locate your enemy quickly. This Xbox 360 game has a rating of M for Mature. This rating is due to the mature themes and violence found in this game.     Do you prefer playing the campaign or on line?

    My personal opinion is as follows: Personally I mostly play the campaign of each new release than trade it in. With Battlefield 3, a new purchase is not worth the cost. Yes the campaign is good but your team AI is poor. You are assigned three AI team members. You almost always have to follow your AI team leader instead of lead. You cannot command your AI team at all. They always immediately run into battle and kill the opposition, often before you even get there. They also move directly in front of you while you are already shooting an enemy. Often times all the fun is taken by your own AI teammates well before you even get to the location of the fight. This is so frustrating that I actually tried to shoot my own men to get them out of my way or to stop them from running into battle in ...

    Good product,and worth, But could be better.

    Battlefield 3 is a great game, but could be better. The producer has ignored who got the Xbox360 Arcade (The simple version of Xbox360), when we start the game we can download an update of 1.5gb that can be only downloaded in the hard drive, but Xbox360 Arcade has about 300mb of disk free space. This update increase the quality of graphics. Without this update we can't enjoy the game like in the ads. The quality is good but could be much better with this update, and I have a pen drive attached on my xbox360 and I can't install this update in the pen drive. I feel a little deceived, because I didn't have this information When I bought the game. Anyway, the game is pretty good and worth. The online mode is amazing. Good game

    INCREDIBLE DESTRUCTION OF SURROUNDINGS. BEST EVER IN A SHOOTER.

    What's Awesome: the environment around you is "live" everything can "crumble." Example: I was using cover near a tree. Tree was shot at trunk & it fell over nearly killing me. The lighting in this game is incredible. Graphics are as close to "real-life" as I've seen in any shooter. Fighter Jet mission could have been better. Tank mission was great. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE EXPLOSIONS & SURROUNDINGS BEING DESTROYED. BEST I"VE SEEN IN ANY SHOOTER. What's not good: Too many "dark" missions in campaign. You'll be asking yourself, "Do we only fight at night." I always play shooters on most difficult level to get longevity from my games. Sad to say, Hard on this game isn't that Hard.     worth the time to pickup and play with your friends

    the battlefield series latest iteration gets a double dose of frostbite (i.e. the new frostbite 2 game engine) much of the delight of pc gamers who like to point and laugh at console players while they run their game at max pc settings. story mode has players traveling from the middle east to paris all the way to a final confrontation in new york city as you try to prevent an international terrorism plot from hatching on u s soil. let's just say that if you like happy tales with unicorns and rainbows and hate bat guy interrogators well this ain't the story for you. the campaign mode itself is ok. this is also a great multiplayer game as well. worth the time to pickup and play

    This Game is Great

    Overall the game is very fun. Unlocking attachments is great and quick. The class system, as always, is very balanced. The maps have a wide variety of focuses and strageties. The medic rocks! I would give it an A. I think the main plus in this game is the size and variety of maps. Some maps focus on vehicles other don't have any, so if you prefer one or the other you wont be disappointed. The shear scale of these maps makes it so each time I play I am able to find different strategic points to take advantage of. I still think one of the neatest features in the Battlefield series is how the classes are so different but yet all so useful in a squad. If you like first person shooters but aren't as good at the whole killing part you could always be a medic and revive your team mates then ...
