    Stargate: Continuum - The saga continues

    For every Stargate fan this was a fun ride with one big exception; I feel it was similar in storyline to Star Trek TNG: First Contact. If anyone remembers the Star Trek movie, the crew travels back into time to stop the Borg who traveled back into time to stop the humans from achieving Warp technology. In Continuum, the Goa'uld travel back into time to stop the humans from finding the Stargate. The SG1 crew figures this out and travels back into time to stop them. That being said, Continuum is still a thrill to watch. Most of the special effects are fantastic. I was happy to see Richard Dean Anderson return, but not happy he only had a minor role.     Stargate Continuum (2nd movie on DVD after Season 10)

    This is the second DVD release (2008) after the end of the TV run for Stargate SG-1. The plot involves the Goa'uld leader Ba'al using a time traveling device to change past history by intercepting the Stargate that was discovered back in 1939 and was being transported by a freighter. Teal'c and Vala have their previous history rewritten. The remaining team members have to find a way to get to one of the hidden stargates in order to undo Ba'al's history alterations. The Goa'uld invasion fleet arrives at Earth to take it over. The Stargate at Antarctica becomes inaccessible and the team goes to Russia to find the other gate. Eventually, it is up to Cameron Mitchell to travel back in time to stop Ba'al from the point at when he changed history. I have also seen the Stargate: the Ark of ...

    From a True SG-1 fan

    If you are a real fan of SG-1 you've already seen this movie, if you are not a fan, it will never make sense. Stargate has always been a FANS ONLY series since most things are only explained once or twice and everything is so complex it can be very tough to follow if you haven't seen the shows, and I do mean all of them which is a 230 odd hour commitment to a single series. As for this movie, it left me wanting more plot, less lag. I know they shot the arctic scene first, and it took a lot longer then they expected, but I feel the storyline suffered from serious Jet Lag. Nothing happens after the first fifteen minutes until the last fifteen minutes of the movie. This one could have been a one hour episode.

    Stargate: Continuum (2008, DVD)

    I preface this by stating that this movie is purely for the Stargate collector. There is no real entertainment value. The Special Feature on how the film was made is the only high point. Really! It appears to be a montage of cutting room floor remnants (lacking continuity). Such as Daniel's leg being frozen off and scenes later where he's walking on it with a cane??? The plot is the tired old 'travel back in time'. Ooooo! Like we haven't seen this dead dog beat to death all too many times in Sci-Fi! Many of the special effects are too dark to see but the reunion of all the past Villians and past Stargate crew all get a pay check for making an appearance anyway. Compare it to Dr. Who's 'Seven Doctor's'. Obviously I cannot recommend this folly at making a profit off the true Stargate ...

    Stargate Fans Rejoice

    Stargate fans finally got a full length motion picture to follow up the series on SCI-FI. Starring Richard Dean Anderson and many of the cast from the series (Not the original Series). This movie is a Stargate fans dream. I will not go into details of what happens in the movie, watch it and enjoy it yourself for those details. However the movie starts out slowly (like most movies, in my opinion) and slowly draws your attention and captures your interest all the way to the end. (With a few bumps along the way) Full of adventure and packed with special effects that every sci-fi fan will love. This is a must see for Stargate fans, and is highly recommended for anyone who loves Sci-Fi movies.
