    Love it, hope you give it a chance!

    I really liked this movie. Then again, I'm an odd person and I accept that this film is not for everyone. Reviews for it can be sharply divided. I had originally seen this movie because of a recommendation on netflix, Let's just say I watch a lot of musicals and horror, with a bit of intrest in cult classics. This definately fits in with all of those. It's a goth rock opera set in the not-too-distant future. The plot is definately that of an opera: Love triangles, revenge, lies, murder, pampered heirs and a sheltered girl, all set to music. I really can't get too in-depth about most of the plot without giving it away. The only real issues I have had with the movie is that sometimes it repeats itself (where one line of dialogue may have covered it) and that the ...

    An offbeat, political, counterculture rock opera

    I wonder how many old farts my age will really get this movie. It's done from a young viewpoint; its creators obviously don't much like or trust people over 39. The approach is uncompromising and demands a willingness to give a little with your perspective in order to understand and internalize. But then again, that's why I prefer the company of younger people to those my age. The narrative-by-comic-book technique is novel and, for me, easy to grasp although another older person (60+) had trouble with it. Conceptually, the premise is no more horrible or disgusting than a fair amount of the devolution literature of the past 80-90 years, and the approach actually makes the material more accessible.     Love this movie!

    I absolutely love this movie! It is wonderful and full of great music (personally I don't like 17, but still not terrible). It is a little cheesy, but I enjoy that. And Amy Lee plays Blind Mag sooo... Hell yeah!

    Repo The Genetic opera... a trip to a bizarre future

    It may take you a few scenes to get used to the format of this movie, but it is well worth it. I have always been a fan of horror movies and this movie is great. The music is fantastic. Ogre from Skinny Puppy is a main character and even though I loathe the idea of someone being a famous just because they are rich..Paris Hilton does a great job in this movie. The colors and imagery are vivid and rich. Superb cinamatography. The movie while set in the future with many industrial settings, has many many victorian settings and costumes. The mix sounds bizarre but really works for this movie.     Interesting to say the least

    I decided to buy Repo! The Genetic Opera on DVD because it looked like an interesting movie. My friend had shown me a scene from it and played the soundtrack and I am interested in those sorts of movies where a majority is singing. My favorite part about the movie was the menu at the beginning and the comic book style throughout the movie during narratives. They picked a good group of actors, (Even Paris Hilton was good and that is something not seen often.) If you do not like gore then you will not like this movie. There is random gore everywhere and lots of blood. This movie really reminded me of Rock Horror Picture Show. Lots of singing, weird characters and scenes, and a plot that seemed pretty out there. All in all the movie was interesting to watch and it is not expensive to own. ...
