The Rand McNally IntelliRoute TND 720 7 inch GPS is designed for professional truck drivers. The GPS comes with a windshield mount and suction cup, wall charger, vehicle charger, and USB cable. It also comes with other accessories, such as a hard case, dash mount disc, and sunshade. The Rand McNally company has made important contributions to the commercial transportation industry for over 70 years. The TFT HD widescreen on this GPS has a touch display and a rugged design. This GPS was upgraded from the previous model to include a brighter screen and louder speaker. When not plugged in, the device operates on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for one hour. This unit can display maps of the United States and Canada.You can set the display so that your entire highway route is in view while you’re driving. You won’t need to search through maps or take your eyes of the road. The breadcrumb trail option actually records and then displays the roads you have traveled. You can customize the warnings, which can alert you if you are outside a certain speed range. You can use this GPS to search for millions of points of interest for truckers, such as truck stops and weigh, service, and repair stations. A Big Plus for Truck Driver's, also for me with my boat & Camper

Lots of bells and whistles without a dependable screen when needed
I needed this to guide my big rig across the country without going into places I shouldn't be. Appaerently the gps can't know EVERY street and it wieght restrictions so you still need to be reponsible. I find the unit to be a bit overpriced for what you get and actually use. It has many special features that just clutter up the main screen. Even the sub screens are laborous to go through and much of the options are just there and are going unused. For example. The driver log is not to be taken seriously. It does keep track of time (driving and on/off duty) as long as you remember to change status. Lane assist is another upestting feature. I've missed my exit twice because the unit shows the lane assist screen so late in the manuever that the exit passed. It shows a black screen with ... I needed this to guide my big rig across the country without going into places I shouldn't be. The Wifi is unusable for me. I've tryed to connect in my house next to my laptop and it will not connect. I was guessing that there is some kind of external speaker that needs to be purchased to get a better signal. Keep in mind I have only had my gps for a month and a half now so there are many things yet to learn about the unit. My last truckers gps was a garmin and i will say that one was outstanding...just a small screen. I wanted to try the bigger screen this time.

Great product for working on the road.
If you have a small windshield, stick to the 5". This 7" screen is a luxury, but blind spots are not good in any case. The new features are easy to use. Adding fuel and keeping track of the fuel economy is a breeze, without an extra notebook. The current mileage is off a little depending on your tire size, easy to change. The first purchase was a refurbished, and it had vertical lines across it, then wouldn't turn on again. The second, is working great. Verry well worth the money that I paid for it!!!!!!!!!
I just purchased a unit like this used it for the first time on 7/21/14. The only problem I had was the shipper didn't knpw the adress for where I was to pick up at, ended up at the rear entrance to the place. {check that works},typed in the recievers adress went right to the place, by the way pickup was in N.J. recv. was in Ma.outside of Boston. What I liked about it was that it telles you before hand about everything, scalehouse, fuel, motel,food, as for anything you could possible want to know you have to go in and set how far away that you want it to tell you about an upcomming exit, or lane change. I have mine set for a 2 mile notice, then a 1 mile,then 450 ft notice. Also you can set the speed notice for how much over the speed limit you want to run,I have mine set for 5mph over. ... Makes truckin a whole lot easier.
