The MXR Carbon Copy analog delay features an entirely analog audio path, delivering rich, warm delay using old-school bucket brigade technology. The Carbon Copy boasts 600ms of delay time, with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch, and its simple three-knob layout gives you complete control over Delay, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regeneration (delay repeats) - all in one incredibly compact pedal. For even more tonal options, you can also adjust width and rate control of the modulation via two internal trim pots. nice, but as always.... you pay for "nice"
Seems very durable, seems to be true by-passable. A handsome pedal and most importantly it sounds really good. But unfortunately I still think they are a little overpriced. Price is always subjective. Some people just have more money than others and don't care. Some people have money and still think things are expensive. I'm the latter of the two. It's a nice, solid pedal, good reputation, used by many pros. Probably not to many out there much better in that price range. I'd buy used since they are durable enough to buy used and not abused. MXR CC Analog Delay - if subtle analog delay effect is what you're after!
I have owned a digital delay and this is my first time to try out an analog delay. I now realize that the two are a different animal all together. Digital delay is good for creating U2-like sounds, or for creating an obvious effect that would totally make your sound nifty if you know what you're doing. An analog delay does not accomplish that effect, rather it makes your sound fuller and more pleasing to the ear especially when doing overdriven solos. The analog effect is supposed to sound warmer and with less fidelity to the original signal, and that is what gives it its place in the guitarist's pedal board. Having said all that, the MXR is pretty cool in a way that my sound instantly sounded better after adding it to my signal chain. It's hard to explain, but the subtle delay sound ... I always leave the Carbon Copy on whether I'm playing clean or driven! The only negative is that you have to have a dedicated/stable power supply to the pedal. Otherwise it got a bit noisy for me. It almost sounded better on batteries than when it was getting juice off my daisy chain. Other than that this pedal made me very happy. Oh and i got it 40 bucks cheaper brand new here on ebay. Buy this pedal. If this does not instantly make your sound better don't blame the pedal. You probably just need to practice more!

MXR CarbonCopy review
I'm very pleased with this pedal. I had considered the new Bright pedal, but this really has opened up doors for my overall sound. Like all pedals, it is best subtly used. Because I play a Strat, I chose this over the Bright because my single coils are bright enough. I had read reviews that the pedal is dark but that has not been my experience. I haven't tweaked the modulation but I use a phase 90 anyway. Overall another MXR winner.I'm very pleased with this pedal. Brighter Now
If you are a fan of the original Carbon Copy, this is everything you love about it, only with brighter and clearer repeats. This is not to say that the repeats themselves are bright or clear in comparison with a digital delay, only brighter and clearer than the dark, hazy repeats of the Carbon Copy. Sounds like a Carbon Copy with a bit of a high-pass filter on it. Beautiful, warm, evolving repeats that sit in a slightly different place on the mix.If you are a fan of the original Carbon Copy, this is everything you love about it, only with brighter and clearer repeats. Worth it
This is easily a pedal to add to your board. It's simple and effective and gets the job done without screwing around with the sound (other than adding a delay of course). Also, the little modulation button is incredible and really makes a difference. If you're a guitar player I would recommend this pedal. (Guitar player here for about 12 years :) )
