Publisher Phantom EFX escapes the confines of its traditional gambling and card titles to bring gamers Darkest of Days, an ambitious first-person shooter that sends players hurtling through time to reverse the course of history. A mysterious organization saves the protagonist just moments before he dies, but he must repay them by traveling back in time to alter the course of events during some of humanity's most infamous moments. This Quantum Leap-style mechanic sends gamers off to five different time periods, including the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius at Pompeii, the Battle of Antietam during the U.S. Civil War, and the WWI Battle of Tannenburg. Time travel is never clean, however, so players have to make several return visits to each time period, often fighting on the opposite side of the conflict in order to correct unfortunate battlefield mistakes. Gamers can use a combination of futuristic and historical weapons, including automatic rifles, poison gas, and pulse cannons, and a varied mission structure means players may have to employ stealth, artillery assaults, or sniper attacks when attempting to save humanity and discover the true goals of the mysterious organization.

Time Travel Video Game Stuck Ironically In The Past
This game is clearly a product of its time how ironic? It only could have been made in the Xbox 360/PS3 era when people liked unique ideas and almost anything could be put onto consoles. It's an okay game. Frame rate is terrible. Graphics are pretty bad. But the gameplay is neat and has some interesting ideas. Also, this is a super easy 1000 gamerscore. If you're looking to time-travel back to 2008 to experience a different era of gaming I’d say check this game out for the right price. This game is clearly a product of its time how ironic? Darkest of Days Xbox 360
The game has an awesome theme, it covers a lot of different wars not seen in most war games.. namely the civil war(the north and the south), however the game is labeled live but you are not able to play with anyone else period........and that really is the downfall of this game...great idea but it is lacking its most essential part... Interesting...but no.
I got this game based solely on the concept of it. Traveling through time with modern and advanced weapons in order to alter history. It sounds like a great game on paper. I only gave it two stars because it features some Civil War and Indian War battles, which very few games do. The game is also quite glitchy. You can stand right in an enemies line of sight and they will somehow overlook you. I would recommend this game only to those who are willing to pay over $20 for an interesting but not-so-fun game.I got this game based solely on the concept of it. Darkest of Days (My review)
I have to say I am pretty disappointed in this game. It seems all your doing is going around shooting at people and throwing glowing balls. I found it hard at some points and repeating the missions while other times extremly rediculous. It was a disappointment. I think they could of put more of a twist on it. Maybe made it more interactive with if you say something to someone to pursade them and it changes the game etc etc. For example the way Fallout 3 works.I have to say I am pretty disappointed in this game. worst of 08?
This may be the worst game to come out in 2008. I purchased it knowing that. This game had potential to be incredibly great, but it was rushed at the end, and not finished correctly. The A.I is mentally retarded (at best) you can stand right next to an enemy and he will not shoot you. They stole the shooting mechanics from Gears of War. Some levels are incredibly hard, while others are super simplistic. At times you have no clue where to go, and the map sucks. I looked forward to this game before it came out, and heard how it sucked hard, and was no where to be found in stores so I waited to buy it cheap on e bay just to play the levels, and it was worse than I was told. If you're just super curious like I was, check it out. Otherwise you should be buying FALLOUT NEW VEGAS BEST GAME EVER ... This may be the worst game to come out in 2008. I purchased it knowing that.
