Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors join forces in this anachronistic crossover release by Japanese developer Omega Force. A total of 77 combatants are available to play as or against, brought together in one time period by the powerful Serpent King Orochi in an arrogant attempt to determine the mightiest warrior. The heroes from Ancient China and Feudal Japan include Yoshimoto Imagawa, Goemon Ishikawa, Lu Bu, Nobunaga Oda, Cao Cao, and other legends. A new team battle system has players creating custom three-man squads and controlling their choice of characters in melee combat. <br><br>While one character actively participates in battle, the remaining two will recover from damage until players decide to switch control at any time during battle. Four original storylines are available to follow as players ultimately attempt to defeat the evil Orochi. After defeating armies within the campaign, players can revisit scenarios in the "Free" mode to build their favorite character's stats and abilities. Warriors Orochi also introduces a "Weapon Fusion System" that combines the attributes from different weapons for more powerful iterations. Over 300 artifacts from both Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors can be collected and viewed within the in-game gallery.

A Must for all Dynasty/Samurai Warriors Fans!
Warriors Orochi was made for fans of the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors series. It's not likely to convert you if you're not a fan of these Koei beat-em-ups, but it does have excellent replay value and sufficient challenge if you are. Critics of this genre cite bad AI (on higher difficulties, enemies don't get smarter, they just hit harder), repetitive gameplay (most of the missions consist of mowing down hordes of enemies and defeating enemy officers in combat) and bland atmosphere (music and graphics - this really depends on your preferences). With a roster of 79(!) characters, each with their own art gallery and personal item, 64 stages, and heavy skill and weapon customization options, this one will keep the pack rats among us playing for months and possibly years to unlock ... Warriors Orochi was made for fans of the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors series. Gameplay-wise, it's very similar to previous titles in the series, with smooth and responsive controls. Fans of the series are familiar with the camera angle, which requires constant resetting to get right behind your character, but other than that, it's pretty solid. This time around, instead of a single warrior, players select a team of three warriors from the complete rosters of Dynasty Warriors 5, Samurai Warriors 1-2 and two new characters, Orochi and Da Ji, and then head off into battle. Equip your weapon of choice, select from a shared pool of skills (which can be leveled up), and then hop into one of the completely new fantasy stages in either Story of Free Mode. Note that characters don't recover musou from attacking or while injured like in previous games, but instead, hitting L2 or R2 will switch active characters, allowing the resting characters to regenerate. In two player mode, your partner has to use those same three characters too. Each character has a unique moveset, as well as a skill class (Power, Technique or Speed). This determines some of the abilities they have in battle, and the ability to mix and mash your fighters makes for many, many possibilities and tons of replay value. Want to team up the mighty Yoshihiro Shimazu with the incendiary Zhu Rong and the bold Sun Jian? This game lets you do it. In terms of customization, the weapon fusion system is a great innovation for the series. It allows you to customize which of a fair assortment of attributes you want to craft into your character's weapon by taking obsolete and underpowered weapons and fusing all or part of them into a new weapon, expending growth points you earn completing levels. This is an excellent way to augment your gameplay experience and play your characters the way you want to, rather than acquiring cookie-cutter preset "ultimate" weapons. While these do exist in the game, they merely have much higher attack and are completely customizable via weapon fusion. You can even continue leveling to 99 and save up growth points, collecting weapons that you can switch between for every fighter to make them play differently. The possibilities are vast. The bottom line is, this is a big game for your buck. Hardcore gamers can meticulously fuse weapons, unlock characters, personal items and levels, earn skills and challenge themselves in the pain of Chaos difficulty, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot for casual gamers to enjoy as well. This game has a fairly short learning curve and is pretty "pick up and play" friendly. It's colorful, fun, and has lots of replay value. A must-have for fans of Koei, and maybe even for the casual action gamer.

I really liked this Warriors Orochi model! I have Dinasty warriors 4-6 and Samurai Warriors and this Orochi Its all of them combine and plus you get to switch 3 different characters while on game play which is pretty cool. Has many characters to choose from since all of them were combine into Orochi Story its interesting and Missions are good. Better music, smarter more creative characters we enjoy playing it! Find it for the low price i recommend it!I really liked this Warriors Orochi model!
