À propos de ce produit

Product Information

While some fans may think Michael Jackson's first video game appearance was in "Space Channel 5," it was years before that. "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" for the Sega Genesis is loosely based on the film of the same name. In this Genesis game, the dastardly Mr. Big has kidnapped children from around the world. Pop sensation Michael Jackson is the only hero who can rescue these kids from Mr. Big's clutches. Like the film, the game starts off in Club 30. However, it will quickly diverge from the movie's plot as you traverse caves, forests, and even outer space. "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" was developed and published by Sega and released in 1990. "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" for the Genesis shares the same name as the arcade version, but the gameplay is much different. The Sega Genesis version of "Moonwalker" is a side-scrolling game instead of the three-quarters view of the arcade. This video game will still have Michael rescuing children. In each level, there are six or more children that Michael Jackson must search for and rescue. While some kids are in plain sight, others are hiding behind doors, bushes, and windows. When found, the children restore some of your health. While you're searching for children, Mr. Big's goons are searching for you. Michael Jackson has an impressive array of combat moves at his disposal, all based on his dance moves. Michael Jackson will kick, point to the stars, grab his crotch, and even moonwalk to defeat his enemies. Each dance move Jackson performs will send sparkles out in front of him, crushing anyone who touches them. When you're surrounded by enemies, it's time to use Michael's magic attacks. While he spins, every enemy he touches is instantly defeated. Release the button after two seconds to have Michael throw his hat like a boomerang. Hold the button down for five seconds to use the power of song. Michael Jackson and his enemies will start dancing, which will instantly destroy all characters on the screen. At certain points in the game, you can even turn into a giant robot. It wouldn't be a game starring Michael Jackson if his music was absent. Luckily, "Moonwalker" has an entire catalog of songs from the king of pop. In the background of every stage, an appropriate Jackson song plays. For example, "Smooth Criminal" will play in the background of Club 30. When you're on the street fighting gang members, "Beat It" will play. Licensed Jackson music will also play during his magic attack. Small clips from songs such as "Billie Jean" will have your enemies dancing and then exploding. Like the other "Moonwalker" games, this Genesis game features digitized voices. Jackson will shout "Who's Bad" and "I'm Bad" at specific points of the game. The sounds his character makes are taken directly from the singer as well. "Moonwalker" is one of the few licensed games that Jackson stars in. This game is for more than just fans of the singer. Fans of action video games will also love the fast-paced excitement. With its fantastic soundtrack and excellent animation, this title is a must-own entry for your gaming collection. Fans of all ages will enjoy what this title has to offer.

  • Not bad for a whacked out leading man and premise

I am pretty picky about what video games I decide to play. There are games I initially scoffed at and vowed to never play. But, because of a friend who was more of an equal opportunity player, I would have a chance to play the game without actually investing in it. Surprisingly, many of these encounters changed my view towards the game and I would actually find myself developing a fondness for it. Moonwalker is a text book example of that. The idea of Micheal Jackson as the protagonist based on the premise of his Moonwalker movie/video is just as strange or if not stranger today than it was in the early 90s. My first reaction when I played Moonwalker was to laugh incessantly. After my gutbusting laughter subsided, I was surprised to see that there was actually a game to be played. ...

  • Ohhh....the nostalgia!

Received the product timely. Tried the game to make sure it worked. Haven't finished it as I have quite the backlog. The price was a good value considering what the retro gaming market has become...

  • Just as good as I remembered

This game is a reproduction but just as good as the original. I’ve had a lot of fun playing it and remembering the good old days ;)

  • Shamone!

This game is dope. It is challenging, if you like side scrolling 80s platformers. It's like if you mixed Shinobi with E-SWAT. It also has a great soundtrack. Prepare to practice practice practice.

  • GOOD GAME

Michael Jackson's Moonwalkeris the name of several video games created by Sega and U.S. Gold in 1990 that incorporate the personage of and were co-developed by Michael Jackson. The arcade version, home console version and home computer versions all differ in terms of gameplay, but the story and concept remain constant. The story, which is taken from the Moonwalkerfilm, follows Michael, using various music and dance related abilities, on a quest to save kidnapped children from the hands of the evil "Mr. Big". The games incorporated synthesized versions of the musician's hits, such as "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal". The games have now achieved cult status and are remembered for being a memorable point in Jackson's change to a different stage
