Bought faulty, repaired and highly delighted. A stunning radio all round.
I purchased this as faulty (One channel not working)but the seller said it still sounded good. It did but in earlier years being a radio and microwave techy thought I might try and fix it. Well worth the effort as after changing the amp chip and a dodgy headphone socket the device is as good as new. Not easy I might say I had to download all the data sheets on the chips used as a diagram of the device is impossible to find. I actually created my own circuit layout sheet, crude but enough. The radio itself is I think the best in its class. The ability to program via epg just like modern recorders is excellent. Still a little primitive but you can program a series from radio 4 extra for a week and listen to a play all in one go later. Files are recorded to a SD card (2 Meg max). Sound ... Sound quality is very good and the system easy to operate. The radio comes with a remote control and PSU but lacks a rechargeable battery available for about £30. You can however run the radio from normal batteries. Sensitivity is excellent the best I have found so far. All in all a good looking device with all the facilities one could hope for. It is firmware upgradable but I am not sure as of yet how it will handle the new DAB formats coming out soon though speculation says it will be fine. This was a good deal and the seller included his new remote and PSU from his replacement radio...another Pure Evoke 3!!! Do not take on a repair if you are not confident, digital issues can be complex and beyond most folks abilities and possibly including mine!!!!

Excellent radio with good features
Good product and works very well with excellent sound quality. The only slight complaint is the display light seems to be quite dim but otherwise very pleased with it

Quality DAB radio
It is the rolls royce of radios and has a great sound which enables me to listen to music stations that you cannot get on FM or AM. As a draw back, there is occasionally a problem with the signal in some areas. With this model you are able to record programmes in the future and it also has an clock alarm.

Best DAB radio available
I bought this radio because it is the top of its range and has more features than most in its price range other than internet radios. It has a really good tone and is easy to operate although the display is not the most visible or easy to view. The only criticisms I have are about difficulty in navigating the menus; they are somewhat cumbersome and not particularly intuitive.

Best Recording DAB Radio but far from Perfect
This was a factory recon job but looked new. Instructions are pathetic -- may as well work things out for yourself. Pure's online support is very good. Sound, recording ability good but slow to FF & rewind recordings. Way better than the useless Roberts RD-41 I had before (they refunded me because they couldn't even repair it). Should have ability to use D batteries but they make you buy their own battery pack -- stuff that!This was a factory recon job but looked new.
