À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Virtual pilots take to the skies, to take part in the most poignant battles of the Pacific Theater in this World War II combat flight sim. The game offers an involved campaign designed to re-create the battles at Pearl Harbor, Wake Island, Midway, Coral Sea, and others. "Instant Action," "Single Mission," "Training," and "Multiplayer" modes are also available. Three dozen flyable aircraft are featured, including all major models flown by the Japanese and U.S. forces. Planes can be customized in a workshop, to adjust set-ups and loadouts. The game offers both forgiving "Arcade" and realistic "Professional" control schemes, and four difficulty settings.

  • Review of first level Heroes of the Pacific ps2

I have this game and want to write a comment on it. Having played Secret Weapons Over Normandy, as well as Ace Combat o4, I wanted to get my hands on another World War Two Flight War game. Having enjoyed the Me 262/b-17 ball turret level of S.W.O.N.; Heroes of the Pacific as raised the bar. Heroes of the Pacific has a semi- simulation element with the Professional flight character, as well as a more easy to master arcade option. If you want to get more of the sensation of how it was to think about flying as well as thinking about how to shot zeros in a dynamic dog fight at the same time, I recommend starting and staying with the professional flight option. One other aspect of the game I like, is the general graphic arts style used for selections, game options screens; they used a ...

  • Interesting Mix of Fun and Annoyance

I purcahsed Heroes of the Pacific after I had already played Secret Weapons Over Normandy (which is one of the best flying games around), so my expectations may have been a little high. Here's the "Cliff's Notes" review: Likes: -Storyline - Takes you to some of the best aerial engagements of WWII -Mission # - Anyone who has played a WWII game is fearful of an expensive game with few missions, this game does not disappoint in that category -In game graphics & Sound - Very realistic environment, and even the enemy planes/ships are detailed Dislikes: -Menus - The plane selection menus and pre-mission "option" menus don't provide many options for plane modification -Music - Don't expect anything beautiful from this game, all synthesized ...

  • Great game, a lot of fun!

This game is really sweet. I was worried it'd be hard to fly the plane like in some Flight sims, or that it would be too easy like Ace Combat. It was neither! The flying takes about half an hour to get used to, but then it's awesome. (This is in expert mode -- there is also an arcade mode for more simplified flying). The game is challenging, and the only complaint I can think of is that it's really hard to see the planes you're trying to shoot down. You can target them which makes it easier, but that will only bring up a yellow arrow on the one you are going for. In a situation when there are like 50 enemy planes its hard to tell who's who, or let alone see any of the other planes that just look like black specks zooming around. Overall it's a really fun game though, and definitly ...

  • Invert the y-axis and the game is more realistic

I started out really, really hating this game. Then I inverted the y-axis and it started to fly 'right'. I love the scenery and the graphics in this game, although I am a little frustrated at the game controls, still (mostly because when I role the aircraft - intentionally or not - the designers built in extra spacial disorientation that I don't need). However, the pilot in the family, and the gamer in the family seem to be enjoying the game in spite of this. It's not the top choice game in our collection, so they haven't made a lot of progress, but it's one that they go back to for their 'flying' game. I love the fact that it is a historical game, that, while not quite accurate, still gives enough 'feeling' for the history to spark interest in the history. And the 'flavor' of the ...

  • the greatest dogfighting game ever!

When I bought this game, iI thought that it was going to be another one of those made up story modes and was regreting buying the game the same day I purchased it. when I recieved "heroes of the pacific", I was very pleased when I played it. This is a very realistic game telling about the very biggest events during world war two for example pearl harbor. I give this game an overall 4/5 because of the intense action, the detailed planes and the great story it has throughout the game. I would definetly reccomend this game to anyone who loves planes, action and is interested in world war two, and also whoever is interested in the art of dogfighting.
