À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Army Men: Sarge's Heroes lets you play the role of Sergeant Hawk as he takes on the Tan Army in a series of 16 missions. Over 40 different objectives must be completed, ranging from simple seek-and-destroy to involved reconnaissance operations. Players can also enroll in "Boot Camp" to practice firing weapons and work on combat skills before embarking on a mission.

As in previous titles in the series, the action is played from a third-person perspective. A map in the corner of the screen will help players find their way to an objective. Members of the Tan Army will try to thwart your progress every step of the way, so keep an eye on your health meter to know when to stop fighting and search for a Medkit. Also available on each level are ammo boxes (to replenish your standard-issue M-16), bazookas, flamethrowers, and sniper rifles.

Since you can't replenish ammo for the extra weapons, you'll have to take your shots carefully. Battle environments include real-world outdoor settings and indoor "alternate world" locales that include a giant bathroom, garden, sandbox, kitchen, and living room. Besides firing at everything that moves, Sarge can crawl on his belly, kneel, roll on the ground and climb ladders. Every hit makes Sarge move a bit slower, so it's important to avoid gunfire at all costs.

Up to four players can compete in one of eight multiplayer stages on a split screen. Players choose soldier color (green, blue, tan or gray) and difficulty level (easy, normal or hard) before deciding on victory conditions. Each mode differs in the number of kills needed for victory. "Family" setting is the easiest, with unlimited ammo and more default weapons to start with. Players can also opt to play multiplayer modes with teams or go for the default "free-for-all" mode.

The game supports the Rumble Pak for vibration feedback, the Expansion Pak for high-resolution graphics, and the Controller Pak to save game progress. Players without a Controller Pak can use passwords to continue the single-player campaign. Make General Grimm proud and rescue his daughter!

Avis les plus pertinents

  • Sarge's Heroes, a great N64 kids game.

Shooters were in short supply during the N64 era. Sarge's Heroes wasn't at the level of Goldeneye, but it was a captivating game by combining lots of fun campaign missions with a multiplayer experience that was surprisingly fun. Shooters don't work well with 1 stick, but somehow Sarge's Heroes was able to make an exciting and almost funny experience out of limited control abilities. Running around a bathroom looking for your friend who's hiding on a rubber ducky just can't be boring.

  • Old Memories Rekindled

Army Men: Sarges Heroes for the Nintendo 64 is a great game for all ages. I use to play this game all the time when I was in Junior High with all my buddies in Multiplayer. Playing this again just renewed all those memories. Plus, the main game is pretty fun as well. Since it is on the Nintendo 64, the graphics aren't amazing, but they are decent. The controls may take a while to get use to, but it is worth the effort. This game is suitable mostly for younger people, but anyone can play.

  • Army Men: Sarge's Heroes

As me and my brother sat here discussing how to review this game we could not decide where to start other than; Army Men: Sarge's Heroes is an awesome game. Apart from being a good shooter for the N64, the plastic army men made the game irresistible. The little green, tan, gray, and blue men were so much fun, especially melting them! The game offered a great campaign mode with a good/comical story of Green and Tan battling in their world and in another dimension (ours). Apart from Sarge their was a host of friends to battle with against the tan army and many different weapons to use; from flamethrowers, M16s, and bazookas! While the campaign was great fun the multiplayer was the real jewel providing endless hours of enjoyment as you battle your friends in various maps. Of course ...

  • Special needs children can play this game

My oldest child is special needs and he loves this game and is able to play it. Yes, when he was younger it was a bit violent but it was something that he connected with and he loves playing it to this day.

  • Fun game, Nostalgic

A game from my childhood. Was worth the $10 to relive this one. Fun with four friends. Comparable to 007 goldeneye, but not as good controls. The missions were fun and relatively easy once you shake off the rust. 3DO was a good game company. I plan to get sarges II next.
