My new old camera
I used to carry an old Wal-Mart digital camera in my lunch box,and it was okay for most pictures. Not great,but passable. It finally quit working and I searched for this specific model camera,because my Sister has one I'd borrowed a few times and really liked. I finally spotted one at a price I could afford,and all the circumstances seemed to line up well,so I bought it. I like this camera more every time I use it-the pictures are clear and detailed,it's been supremely reliable,and it's easy to use,very important to me! The price was very reasonable,and the seller made the purchase a genuine pleasure;the camera was everything I was told it'd be,and more. Even though it's a used camera,it looks and works like new-I can't think of a down side to it;well,it COULD use a bigger memory card,but ... The only problem,if you can call it that,is I'm left-handed,and when I take a picture with this model camera,I have to make myself remember to hold the camera different with my right hand than I normally would,or my knuckle pushes the cover closed enough to make the lens retract,making for a blurry picture. But that's just a little glitch,and I'll learn to work around it,just like I've learned to work around all the little "wierdnesses" that afflict my seven trucks,three cars and currently the only motorcycle. (That last little disclaimer is because the statement can change suddenly;I went from having two trucks to having four,in a matter of days,and then got the fifth one less than a month later,then the sixth and seventh trucks within the following month.) I bought two of 'em,the rest were freebies. Back to the Olympus C 50 Camedia;It's a really good camera for me,easy to use,I take a lot of pics of jobs and projects I take on. (I like to have proof I did them,for those who say "That's impossible!! There's NO WAY you could have done THAT!".) Well,yeah,I DID,and here's the pic of me doing it...

Len cover track broken in middle of slide on Camera
All items were good but the camera len cover slide was broken, so a person had to hold the len cover with their hand pushing down for the len to come out to take the picture. This was the issue I had with my old camera of the same type and why I bought this one to replace it. There was no mention on the list of the camera that was being sold that the track on the lens cover was broken.

Tried, true and trusted this model of Olympus camera.
I bought the Olympus Camedia C 50 Zoom to replace the one I had since 2003. It had been stolen during a home invasion. Even the thieves recognized it as a great camera. I had used my original camera for all our family photos and all my eBay photos. I love the quality of the photo it takes and the ease of use. It has many great features. It is bigger than the newer cameras, but when it was necessary to get another camera, I was looking on eBay for an exact replacement model. I love this camera. My replacement model is as great as the one that was stolen. Tried, true and trusted this model of Olympus cameras.I bought the Olympus Camedia C 50 Zoom to replace the one I had since 2003. Too bad excellent products like this one are replaced by designs that fail to perform as well. C-50 was a breakthrough product when first introduced loaded with features that will be appreciated by camera buffs familiar with SLR operation and deliver excellent results as its features are exercised. Many more recent models introduced by Olympus are quite interesting and have similar features, but lack the important sight finder feature, so crutial to OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHY. The C 50 zoom enables the shooter to frame the shot without disabling glare across the LCD display. Olympus has always been an excellent buy for personal and professional photography requirements with innovative product. Let's hope Olympus current range of cameras that were to be improvements over the C 50 Zoom are ... Too bad excellent products like this one are replaced by designs that fail to perform as well. If you need a point and shoot with SLR type flexibility and less complexity in a compact size you can take anywhere in your pocket, you may find the C 50 Zoom a useful tool. My first C-50 has seen 5 years of hard constant outdoor use, even the paint on the bezel is faded, ...a testiment to this products reliability. The slider covering the lens is a weak point, and with a little knowledge and care can be protected. The channel that the hinge rides in is made of a plastic, lacking in resilience, and wears a bit more than it should.

Great camera when using a card reader.
On the new computers the software from the disks do not work. If you buy a card reader, you can download pictures to Photos and edit them there or in Photoshop.
