    Building the Timber Frame House by James Gruber, Tedd B

    This book was one of many I used, as a reference when I built a timber-frame shop/studio. My original book was badly damaged in a rain storm while I was constructing the building. I still have the original book, and I have wanted to replace it, but I did not want to pay the high cost of a new one. This is one of the best books on frames, tools, and joints for timber frame ever written. The copy I got was just like the one I had purchased years before.

    Great timber design resource.

    A good resource for a beginner and experienced timber framer. If you are an engineer type, the stats for timber sizing and locations for tenons and mortises are explained to maintain maximum timber strength are explained.

    Building the Timber Frame House by James Gruber, Tedd B

    This is a good technical book with lots of helpful hints regarding templates and measuring. It addresses using both modern and traditional tools. The book also addresses the timberframe as ann art form and gives a short history of the technique. Certainly a great book for anyone contemplating a timberframe construction of any scale.
