Very Disappointing
When I read the reviews on this product I thought Yay! it will help me have a better understanding of the layout as I read the books. However it is not an accurate depiction at all. It does not include Casterly Rock, Riverrun, Iron Islands, The Dreadfort, Bear Island, Deepwood Motte, Moat Caitlin, The Neck, The Twins, Vale of Arryn, The Fingers, Storms End, Dorne, North of the Wall, or any of the free cities. It has awesome pop up renditions of King's Landing, The Eyrie, the Wall, Winterfell, Vaes Dothrak, Qarth, and Pentos. But again, it doesn't give you any idea of the placement of them on the actual map. I took pictures of the maps in the books and put them together. That helped tremendously. If you just want a pretty pop up book, this is great. However, if you want an actual map to ... Amazing!
This book is truly an amazing work of art!!!! Each page is a detailed and fascinating representation of different areas of Westeros You can view each layout individually, then you can unfold it from a different direction and all the pages come together to make a fantastic 3D map of the land. It is one of my favorite books and I literally have thousands!!!! Cannot wait to give my son his for Christmas. He is going to be thrilled!This book is truly an amazing work of art!!!! Westeros comes alive
This is stunning. It is a technical marvel. Amazing detail and construction. I'm hooked on Game od Thrones and I'm proud to admit it. I can watch episodes multiple times and never tire of the characters or the marvelous presentation. I can't wait for season 6 to start. I love the mother of dragons best and I curse the fact that I'm way to old to have a chance with her. Still...she is a true beauty and makes an already wonderful show even better. This presentation should be a must have for all true fan/believers. NOT TO BE MISSED. The hand of the king is watching you!!!!!This is stunning. It is a technical marvel. One of the most interesting books I have ever bought.
Despite a disconcerting habit of killing off some of my favorite characters on a regular basis, I still think that Game of Thrones is one of the best TV shows ever. Even without comparing it to the dreck which passes for entertainment these days, it ranks pretty high. The casting, acting and production values are way up there. Therefore I expected that this book would, at least, be fairly interesting. That's putting it mildly. The way the various buildings, etc., appear is nothing short of amazing. I had no idea that there was such a profession as paper engineer. Now I know and Messrs. Reinhart and Komarck richly deserve all the kudos they have received. I have not, as yet, unfolded the whole book but I'm sure I'll get to it soon. I can't wait for the new season and the next book by ...
