Lasher by Anne Rice.....a nice signed copy
First of all, I must admit that I love the work of Anne Rice. That said, I did not purchase this for myself, but for my fiancee. She also loves Anne Rice and I thought that purchasing a signed copy would be very very nice. Now, finding a good signed copy is not easy, as Anne Rice usually personalizes her autographs in books. The best way to get an undedicated autographed book, is to buy one that has a bookplate in it. A bookplate is a small adheseve page, simular to a post it note, that is placed in the book. These are usually not dedicated and while this is not the prefered way to have a book signed, it does work. This is how this book was signed. For the record, books with bookplate autographs usually sell for much less then books signed on a page, so it is good for the pocket ... First of all, I must admit that I love the work of Anne Rice. I was really disapointed in this book. There was enough incest in the first Mayfair witch book and this one has more in the first chapter, but where I lost intrest is when the "good guy" sleeps with a 13 year old. I'm just not too into men who are almost 50 screwing little girls, especially when he was the character I hoped good things for. Now I could care less what evil falls upon him. There is only one character I care at all about and I am afraid if I kept reading what he would do to make me hate him too. I guess I am more a fan of her vampire books. The witches just left me pissed off. I will not finish this book or bother reading the other one. Too bad I have already read every vampire book she published.I was really disapointed in this book. Great Author!!!!!!!!!
I would highly recommend this book, if you like Interview with a Vampire then you will love the entire series. With each book of hers you get more and more information about each character. I have read all of her books and have not been disappointed once. So again please check this and all of her books out.
