Packed very well, and I got a pair of faded old blue/grey men's socks extra at no charge. That sent me over the top with glee. Also, just as it was advertised. Photos were spot on. I can't wait to start staking. Also, the socks will keep me feet warm and cozy this winter.

Classic movie
We are seniors, enjoy many of the old classic movies and period films. We’ve seen this movie before on cable channel. Wanted to have the dvd to watch at our leisure. Nice , good quality disc and case. The movie credits and descriptions nicely done. Secure and packaged well, good purchase. Depiction of early immigrants way of life.

A MUST HAVE!!!
I love everything about this movie! The acting, the stars (Irene Dunne!),the costumes, sets, the era, and most of all - the story. It's captured on film a piece of American heritage that I believe we should all keep in mind. It's not about the early settlers who came on the Mayflower, but the immigrents who came around the turn of the century. It was fairly common then to come with the entire extended family and they stuck together - whereas today we move or are moved hither and yon and loose the benefits of remembering our roots and maintaining close and frequent contact with aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings - a very important thing to have. It shows family values, where family does come first - parents taking the time to nurture their children and treating them ... I love everything about this movie! The parents use that same careful and practical treatment to the rest of the family - with all their peculiarities and all. It's good to see the whole family working together to plan their spending and seeing how that information made a difference in how the kids learned respect for budgeting and appreciation for what they had - without frightening them about lack of money, but seeing where it went and how important it is to cover the basic expenses of life before any little luxuries are purchased. I admire that a lot as it laid the ground work for conscientiousness and didn't produce a willy-nilly brood of thoughtless, demanding "gimme gimme" kids. If parents had the know-how to do that these days, I think we'd see a great difference in how our country's young people would appreciate their parents for raising them that way, in their manners and in how they would show greater respect for their families, other people in general, and money. We should remember that most of our families in the US started out this way. Hard working, not usually wealthy, but able to go on through their days with dignity and honor, the support and comfort of their families nearby, and with respect for others and themselves. A very good way to live.

Excellent family movie good for the heart
I have wanted this movie since I was a little girl. It is a heart warming story of a family that is hard working, giving, loving. It takes you away to another time when things were not so easy but deeply appreciated. You get a true sense of what it is like to be a family living in small spaces with great joy because of the closness. You also can see where their are morals of the story in each character played. I reccomend this movie to every generation. It is a wonderful guide line to life and also shows how so little means so much. I would challenge everyone to watch this classic. beautiful warm
Great cast and writing. A Swedish family living in San Francisco in the early 1900s and how they stay close and make there way thru life. Also some fantastic shots of early San Francisco that will make you want to go back in time and walk around and explore.

Great movie
This movie is absolutely sweet and a great family movie. The story is of a immigrant family who came to America and proudly became citizens. The touching respect that each family member has for one another and the great roll models that Mama and Papa are, is a great example for modern day families. Keep tissue handy—a lovely movie with impeccable values.
