Great Sounds of the British Invasion
I would have given the CD an excellent rating but I don't think the best selections available to fill the none hit slots were wisely chosen. With that said, this CD is a wonderful trip back to the innocent days of the 1960's British Invasion. All of the original versions of the hits are included as well as other songs from the same time period. The 3 Lennon & McCartney songs which start off the CD are classic Mersy sounding. My favorite cut and also one of my all-time favorite songs (right up there with "Needles & Pins" by the Searchers) of mine is "I Go to Pieces" written by Del Shannon. I understand that he released it earlier as a single but it didn't do very well on the charts. The opening guitar riff is the songs classic signature as well as the beautiful vocal harmonies from ... In my opinion neither of them had great solo voices but together they created vocal magic. I suspect this may be due to Peter's great ear for musical arrangements as he went on to become a very successful producer. This CD is worth adding to your collection.

Very good collection, not perfect but a must-have for a P&G fan!
This is an outstanding collectoin of Peter & Gordon's work and it includes most everything I would have ever looked for, save for one song - "I Would Buy You presents" that I have yet to see on CD anywhere. The mixes are a vast improvement on here over others I've heard, most notably "A World Without Love" which finally has voices in center channel instead of off to one side, ditto for "Don't Pity Me", "To Show I Love You", and probably a couple more. And for the first time, GOOD (and stereo!) mix of "Woman." My only gripe about their mixes is the voices seem to skew a bit to the left so if you switch from stereo to mono the vocals will move to dead center in mono and shift back a little to the left in stereo. I've remixed them when recording to hard drive without much effort and it's a ... One more gripe, "I Don't Want To See You Again" is appended by a greeting from Paul McCartney and when the song ends McCartney comes back for another message. If I'm listening to the CD in random I certainly don't ant to hear that every time I play the song, so it was something unnecessary. That said, this is still one of the best Peter & Gordon collections I've found to date so if you want their stuff in true stereo and you want it clean, pick this CD up if you can find it. For all its imperfections it's still a champ and you get a lot of bang for the buck here.

Perfect selection for the Best of Peter & Gordon!!!!
I love everything about this cd. I lost my records back in the 70's and was thrilled to find all my favorite songs on one cd. Would highly recommend this cd to any Peter & Gordon fan. Excellent sound quality and the history of P & G sure brings back some great memories. This cd is truly the best of P & G as it shows the diversity they brought to their music. They had a unique sound, all their own, no matter what they sang. Also appreciated the info about what each one accomplished, on his own, after their breakup. Truly a find! Great Sound Quality From Peter & Gordon !!
Music from the British Invasion period has always provided some excellent listening pleasure and Peter & Gordon is one of those fine bands from that time period. Between 1964 & 1968 they released some really cool pop songs and were a mainstay in top 40 radio. Beginning with their only number #1 single "A World Without Love" this disc has all of their hit singles and 2 of the tracks are presented in "True Stereo" for the 1st time on CD. Razor & Tie and Collectors Choice Music did an excellent job compiling this disc. Although released in 2001 the sound quality is excellent and well worth the investment if you can locate a copy !!
