Good Reference Book
This is a fairly well written book with lots of screen shots and detailed information. It is not necessarily an easy read, but Logic is not necessarily an entry level program. Since Garage Band now comes standard on Mac's, I would guess that the vast majority of Logic purchasers are upgrading from Garage Band; therefore, I'd love to see a book that spent more time comparing and explaining differences between the two. This is not that book. In fact, Garage Band is not even listed in the index. I thought I had a pretty good handle on Garage Band and didn't expect some of the significant differences in terminology or basic things to "unlearn" as well as learn.This is a fairly well written book with lots of screen shots and detailed information. Very good so far...
I bought this book in order to learn Logic Express from the ground up. It covers both Logic Pro and Logic Express, going into the (slight) differences as you progress. So far I am through Recording with loops, audio and MIDI. Each chapter takes about 1 hour and has a quiz style review at the end to check your understanding. The book also shows the different methods for doing the same action, such as a keyboard shortcut, a menu command or a button push while performing the exercise. I highly recommend this book.I bought this book in order to learn Logic Express from the ground up. It covers both Logic Pro and Logic Express, going into the (slight) differences as you progress. this book is written by the guy who hosts 1000 dollar seminars in california every few months. once you read it and know the material, you can go take an apple certification test and actually have a certificate that can help get you a job in a studio, JUST FROM READING THIS BOOK! its very easy to understand and follows from the basics and up to all the complicated stuff that even some long time "producers" still didn't know how to do. get this book.this book is written by the guy who hosts 1000 dollar seminars in california every few months. once you read it and know the material, you can go take an apple certification test and actually have a certificate that can help get you a job in a studio, JUST FROM READING THIS BOOK! its very easy to understand and follows from the basics and up to all the complicated stuff that even some long time "producers" still didn't know how to do. get this book.

I love everything about my Logic Pro 9 recording program with the exception of the users manual. This is the book that came recommended the most highly.
