À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Players who take the role of Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops can sneak through a variety of missions in the single-player story or engage in stealth combat with friends by connecting to Ad-hoc and Infrastructure networks. Designed as the missing link in the timeline between Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear, the game begins in 1970, six years after Snake Eater when Naked Snake awakens in a South American prison camp.

Realizing the FOX unit ran off with a few nuclear warheads in the hopes of turning the Soviet Union into a melted snow cone, Snake follows their trail, treading carefully and silently through each objective in order to catch the culprits and prevent the demise of a nation. Silently stalking the enemy, Snake may also recruit up to three non-player medics, spies, snipers, and engineers or locate another player through a wireless search and invite them to play along. These chosen allies can be positioned where needed and players can cycle through each persona with the push of a button. Special characters can be downloaded at various "hotspots" throughout the United States and then traded with friends, creating a bartering economy within the wireless community.

Multiplayer action includes various additions to the Metal Gear competitive gameplay such as the "White Flag" system of defeat. Instead of battling to the death teams can opt to surrender and begin another game, and now leading players in "Deathmatch" are easier to spot as they have a croaking frog floating above their heads until the game is over or someone else gets a higher score. Players may also upload their single-player squadrons and use them in combat or swap them with friends.

  • Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

So, I will start about by saying, "WOW". For a Metal Gear Solid game on the PSP, this game has some amazing graphics. The first thing that got me to check this game out was the fact that it's a sequel to the 3 title on the PlayStation 2. I really enjoyed Snake Eater, I felt like it hit back to some of that old school nostalgia of the first Metal Gear Solid. So when I got this game I was expecting some more of that wonderful feeling. The game is a very fun and interactive game. Unlike the previous Metal Gear Solid games, this game isn't a solo mission. You rely on team members that you recruit to help you through stages, giving a more strategic feel to the game. I say right now that the storyline for the game, for as much as I've played, is pretty darn good. If your ...

  • Sneaking on the Go!

I am a huge fan of the Metal Gear series and when I found out about MPO I had to get my hands on it for some on the go sneaking. This game is a must have for solid Metal Gear fans, but if you are new to the series you may feel alienated by the story and gameplay. The game uses comic book style cutscenes but the regular 3D gameplay you usually see in a metal gear game and it does it well. A new addition to the game is recruiting soldiers to come to your side. You can build and customize your teams buy basically kidnapping enemy sodiers and bringing them to your truck. You can then use those teams in online matches against other people. Also if you go to different areas around the world you can find different recruits. So if you like metal gear, it would do you well to consider buying this ...

  • good game

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops boasts ground-breaking online play that lets gamers recruit comrades to form a unique fighting force. The game follows the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as Naked Snake establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. Set in 1970, the game will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga, as players will learn more about returning characters such as Para-Medic, Major Zero and Sigint and also witness Naked Snake's greatest tragedy -- a loss that sets into motion the events of later games in the Metal Gear Solid timeline. Full voiceovers for cinematics, performed by returning cast from MGS3 - Snake Eater

  • Good, but not Exceed Expectations

I expected something more like the version for the PS1. It's a great game, but not what I expected. To advance the missions you have to accept an increase in the degree of difficulty. Totally different from Metal Gear Solid for PS1. However one has good gameplay. I have to get used to not play with the Snake. You must be constantly changing and no spy has a great storyline as in other games for PS1 (2).

  • GOTTA CATCH THEM ALL!!!!!!!!

One more time we can play the MGS series ,but now on a PSP!!!!!! Kojima Productions did it again...!!!!!! customizable, units to clear the missions, and then take all the characters online for battle is a great way of using the "portable ops" concept. Using METAL GEAR SOLID gameplay, PORTABLE OPS, adds this pokémon-like way to play...stun enemies or find them in other ways, (even winning them on the battefield), to convert this units to your side is AN INCREDIBLE AND ADDITIVE IDEA!!!!!A, you can´t stop searching for new soldiers to capture, and then battle with your friends in some of the returning modes of MGS 3 Subsistence. you won´t regret this versions of the game, it is a MUST-HAVE for PSP owners.
