Bokeh Bang
I wanted a portrait lens with great bokeh and this is it. At f1.4 it really blurs creamy smooth, I keep it at f2.8 to get greater depth of field. My other protrait lens is the Canon EF 70-200mm L IS f2.8, which give a great phot and really good bokeh, but the Rok's bokeh has got it beat, although it's not auto focus the ring moves really smooth and almost 360 deg turn, dialing in to perfect focus with easy precision in the viewfinder, live view focusing is exact. bought it for $200.00 and Proud to have it.I wanted a portrait lens with great bokeh and this is it. Great lens, cheap, super sharp...
The lens is sharp. Very sharp. It is big and bulky but to me that's not a concern. The lens is manual focus except the aperture which I can control with the camera automatically. Manual focus serves its purpose...its important to realize lenses are tools. You cannot fix everything with a hammer and likewise one lens will not do everything. If you are trying to take pictures of race cars or sports this is probably not your lens albeit some people could probably pull it off. If you want to be able to have an absolutely excellent portrait style lens where you can control your DOF, bokeh, composition, etc you will be hard pressed to find a better lens. And for the price??? Not likely to find a better deal. Great bokeh, tack sharp...wide aperture range... downsides??? Build quality on some ... The lens is sharp. Very sharp. Its not going to fall apart or anything but they did cut corners here and there (but definitely not in the optics area which is what really matters).... The really wide aperture range is great.

outstanding lens from rokinon
I did a lot of homework before buying this lens,It is an outstanding lens.Lovely portraits with great bokeh,great low light lens!! my photos are great,Focus is very critical though,practice and take lots of shots.you will be amazed.log on the web and read as many reviews as you can.most are absolutly positive.
