This British thriller stars Thora Birch as Liz, a teenager at a private school who has been through a harrowing experience with three of her classmates. Not worth your time!
I'm providing a long summary... @__@ It's about four teenagers named Liz, Frankie, Geoff, and Mike. Liz had an idea that all four of them should "lock" themselves up in a bomb shelter for three days just getting high and having sex. Liz is in love with Mike. Her whole goal for the bomb shelter trip was for him to love her or at least like her. On the third day Mike didn't like or love Liz. So Liz pretended that she couldn't get the door to the bomb shelter open. In fact, it was she who locked the door and made everyone believed that she accidently slammed the door shut on the first day and it somehow locked from the outside. So they're in a bomb shelter without running water. Soon they will all be dehydrated. Out of boredom Mike (at least boredom on his part) and Liz have sex. After the ... So Geoff decided to get one, while Liz is trying to tell Mike that she had the key to the bomb shelter. Upon hearing the can being open, Mike freaks and attacked Geoff. Geoff's cause of death is severe head injury. Then Liz wanted to cut her wrist because both Frankie and Geoff are dead. Mike trying to comfort/ dissuade her and tells Liz that he loves her. After she thought that Mike is asleep, she climbed the ladder to the entrance of the bomb shelter and unlocked it. Mike wakes up and askes her how she opened the door. She told him the truth, he was so enraged that he viciously climbed up the chain ladder. What they both didn't know was the chain ladder's bolts are beginning to come loose. Mike fell to his death. She led the authorities to believe that she was the victim. That someone, her best friend, Martin, locked all four of them inside the bomb shelter. Everyone believed her. Martin so enraged, went to the safe house that she was at and chased her all the way to a nearby dam. She pushed him into the running dam, he drowned. She returned to the house where the psychologist found her. The psychologist took her to the bomb shelter, where Liz told the psychologist the truth. However, no one would believe the psychologist because there is no concrete evidence and everyone believed Liz because she was the "damsel in distress." Authories found his body at the dam and concluded that it was suicide from guilt. Basically, everyone dies because this girl wanted to have this guy. I don't find this movie psychologically thrilling. It's not even scary!

An average thriller that has it's moments
The Hole (2006) I liked it. That being said, this is a either love it or hate it movie. It's a psychological thriller, maybe, but not really. It's pyschological, but not a thriller, or is it the other way around... I don't know. I do know this, the movie is intense. The death scenes are pretty brutal and even the most seasoned horror vets might feel a little nauseaos during them. This is a typical girl meets boy, girl loves boy, boy doesn't notice girls, so girl devises a scheme to get him alone for the weekend... and so on. Yay! Excitement, a weekened sleepover in a dark, dank, pit. The movie takes a turn for the worse when all of the characters get trapped inside the Bomb Shelter and since nobobdy knows they are there.... Even without the brilliant cast (Thora Birch, Keira ... The Hole (2006) I liked it. That being said, this is a either love it or hate it movie. It's a psychological thriller, maybe, but not really. No, it's not 'American Beauty' but 'The Hole', an adolescent adventure that goes disastrously wrong for the protagonists - and, quite frequently, the audience. Birch plays Liz, a disaffected public school girl with a huge crush on heartthrob boarder Mike (Harrington) and a plan to win him round. Together with rugby jock Geoff (Fox) and clothes horse Frankie (Knigthley) the duo decide to skip a geography trip and spend the weekend in a World War II bunker with alcoholic drink, loud music and the luxury of knowing that only class nerd Martin (Brocklebank) knows where they are. But two weeks later the quartet haven't returned to school and when a heavily traumatized Liz reappears looking like an extra from ... With its dreary classroom scenes, misunderstood love and just a smattering of horror, Hamm's film is more 'Grange Hill' than 'Shallow Grave'. It begins credibly with Birch dazed but convinced that her friends are alive; once Davidtz starts digging things go downhill - and underground - very fast. With actors of the calibre of Birch and Davidtz, it was reasonable to expect some mind games as the latter tries to put the jigsaw together, instead Hamm reduces Davidtz to a bit part, preferring instead to concentrate on interminable melodrama inside the bunker as the teenagers wonder who has locked the escape hatch. Any hope of suspense re-entering the film disappears as whodunit moves to whocares with a twist signposted so well in advance and you're left hoping for a supernatural force, a disgruntled trigonometry teacher with a cleaver or just an irate parent to take this film out of the eminently predictable. There were the makings of a really clever thriller here but for Hamm it's really a case of going back to school.

Finally got it!
Yeah!! Finally got this very disturbing movie and I love it, especially in that it stars both Thora Birch and Keira knightingly... enough to get even a dead man's pulse hopping back to life!! Thanks!!

Intense
This movie is pretty intense and really messes with your head. The images of death are enough to make you a little queezy from time to time. Overall, the plot of the movie is typical: crazy obsessed girl wants boy and will do anything to get him. However, the movie has some amazing cinematography and real depth if you can get your head into it. After I saw this movie, I couldn't stop thinking about it for day, it creeped me out. Now that I think about it though, it takes a damn good movie to stick with you for that long.This movie is pretty intense and really messes with your head.
