    This is a very good product and I would recommend it.

    I bought this kindle for myself. I finally decided to try an e-reader for a couple of reasons. When I travel, I no longer have to take a stack of books with me, I can take them all in this one little device. I also like the ability to change the font and size of the print -- this is very nice now that reading small print is becoming more of a challenge for me. This kindle does not have a built in light, but that's ok, I read in bed with a lamp on my bedside stand as it is, so this is not a problem. Since I got my kindle for an exceptionally good price, I am willing to continue turning my lamp on and off. I read a number of reviews and talked to people who had different kindles before purchasing this kindle. I was more concerned with getting some basic functional features and a good ...

    Great e-reader whose only flaw is in software - unreliable indexing.

    It is an excellent e-reader, and particularly affordable with the special offers option. It features both portrait and landscape modes for reading, inbuilt dictionaries, text-to-speech reading, MP3 player, even a basic web browser. The usability is excellent and the controls are quite intuitive. I have only one problem with it: the indexing of books sometimes stops or freezes for no reason. This makesit difficult to navigate through all the books on the Kindle, and to use the search function reliably. Indexing also happens without notification and at random, which can drain quite a bit of your battery if you don't keep an eye on it. I hope this gets fixed in a future software update from Amazaon.

    Bad: speed, no light, heavier than Kindle 4. Good: display, design.

    The display is great, the visible design is good, and the price is awesome. However there are issues to address. First of all the device contains and infrared touch screen for some mysterious reason which makes it fat comparing to Kindle 4. It's a bit heavier and wider as well. No built-in light is also an issue. The solution is to buy a very expensive Amazon cover case that costs almost as the device itself. And all this is just for a flashlight that allows you to read in dark (you can't bring light with you everywhere can you?) Finally, the OS is very slow as well. And that's not about the display that refreshes slowly out of physical reasons. Every operation takes more time that the display needs to refresh. Sometimes up to 3-4 seconds.     First time Kindle

    By all the means, this is a great product. It's not a tablet, it's not a smartphone, it is a completely different things, its a Kindle. Been myself a person who travels a lot, and having plenty time to work and to little to enjoy, I found that I can select and read an entire book, learn about my hobbies and specialized reading interests, with out depending of having an electric outlet near. The Kindle allows me that, having a lot to read, as if I had a full pack of books on my backpack, all in one place, and with WiFi to access to the web when I need it, as if it was a tablet or smartphone. The Pros I have found using it: 1) Small, easy to carry 2) Good storage capacity, taking into account that we will carry text instead of heavy media files 3) Easy to use, more simple than a tablet, ...

    after all, it worth it's price :c)

    I like to read, and i travel 2 hours/day, so i decided to buy a kindle touch. I like it couse it has clear, and sharp screen, i can see the text easily in the most of light condition. It has a fast cpu to process the document pages, and the page flipping is quick enough. but it isn't a "perfect" reader.. i had a sony prc300, which could read the RTF document type, but the kindle can't without conversion. and the official conversion works only online, by amazon. It is true, the kindle is much faster than the sony prs 300 ;c) after all, it worth it's price :c)
