A bit too heavy duty for light quantities.
I was impressed with this scale for it's quality, it's size and capacity for the price. There's a couple of bones to pick with it though. I can't seem to tell if there's any sort of back light to it? If there is I don't know how to turn it on? The manual is at least printed in English and is fair but says nothing about what the USB cable is all about? Having looked back on the posting in ebay I find that it's an alternate power source, I'm assuming you just plug it into any USB powered outlet such as a phone battery charger. Most of these things charge at around 7 VDC. This unit runs off of a 9VDC battery so I guess if it's running off of a wall charger the drop in 2 volts is inconsequential? Would be nice to have this sort of information with the unit? It's also a bit too heavy duty for ... I was impressed with this scale for it's quality, it's size and capacity for the price. Heavy Duty and accurate
I use this daily for my eBay business and have had no problems so far. Pros: 1. it is heavy and stable. 2. It is accurate 3. It will handle packages upto 330lbs. 4: You can actually get an accurate weight of yourself provided you weigh less than the max. 5. Display can be placed away from under large packages. I can think of a few more pros but time wont permit. Things that may be a problem for some: 1. It has no lighted display 2. It wont read any weight less than 6 ounces. 3. Display does not have a way to mount on wall. None of these are a deal killer for me. I'm happy to finally have a good quality heavy duty scale. Wonderful item to have on hand.
I just started selling items on eBay and paying postage has gotten to be a very big expense when you offer free shipping. Knowing exactly how much an item weighs gives me an extra advantage and saves me money. These scales were not that expensive and they are attractive and take up little room. Awesome versatile scale
I bought this scale for an unconventional use, to weigh my infant to ensure weight gain. The product delivered down to the ounce, so I could see how much she was eating. I bought it for the TARE feature and it does an awesome job of omitting the weight of her bath and just leave her weight. I would recommend this scale to a parent looking for an affordable scale that has a use after your child outgrows it. It’s also a good scale for adults over the 300lb max of traditional bathroom scales. I bought this scale for an unconventional use, to weigh my infant to ensure weight gain. Good price, so far, so good.
I was looking for an affordable scale without a lot of bells and whistles that does what it's intended to do...weigh things. So far, it does that and as long as it continues to do so, I'll be happy. I was waiting to write a review until I'd compared the readings I was getting with those at the UPS store, and they seem to be in line. The only drawback is that you can get different readings of the exact same package, depending on how it's sitting on the scale. But I've noticed that with bathroom scales as well, so it may just be the nature of the beast.I was looking for an affordable scale without a lot of bells and whistles that does what it's intended to do...weigh things. So far, it does that and as long as it continues to do so, I'll be happy.
