As a live band, Led Zeppelin's reputation was unparalleled during the 1970s. Traversing the globe, the band gained notoriety as a group of hard-living party animals. But onstage, their talent took over. In 2003, guitarist Jimmy Page undertook an exhaustive search of the Led Zep archives, and amongst a treasure trove of audio and visual delights, he stumbled upon recordings of two concerts from 1972. Both took place in California, one at the L.A. Forum, the other at the Long Beach Arena. The material spans the first five albums from Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones, offering an awesome insight into the power of Zeppelin in the live arena. HOW THE WEST WAS WON includes various highlights from the shows, among them an incredible 25-minute version of "Dazed and Confused," as well as Zep favorites such as "Black Dog," "Moby Dick," "Whole Lotta Love," and many others. The band appears eager to demonstrate its musical versatility, often stretching out the material by integrating cover versions and wild improvisations into the songs. This release has been digitally remastered, offering a superior listening experience.

I love the product itself. Sound Quality is great and of course the performance is awesome. The thing I absolutely despise about it is the slide show. The product was advertised as a complete DVD concert, and granted it was, however the convert is simply a still-framed slide show rather than the real performance. I blame the seller, not the product, for this lack of information. If they could take the pictures, then the performance could be put onto a DVD live. It is not the fault of the product itself, just be careful when buying that you understand the concert is the exact same WEST WAS WON that you can buy on cd at Wal-Mart, just with a simple slide show to view at the same time.I love the product itself. Awesome Sauce ! If you are a fan of Led Zeppelin this is a must have . If you are listening in 5.1 surround be aware that the level of this recording is very very high . There is no headroom on this recording , it is full crank with no dynamics , so be aware !

Great live Zeppelin sound for die hard fans with the right equipment
This DVD Audio is an excellent quality sound reproduction of two live Zeppelin performances from June 1972 in LA and Long Beach. A slide show of still shots accompanies the songs. To my knowledge, it is the only DVD-Audio available for Led Zeppelin. Although you can play this on your DVD player, unless you have a DVD-Audio compatible player, you won't get the full high resolution sound experience intended.This DVD Audio is an excellent quality sound reproduction of two live Zeppelin performances from June 1972 in LA and Long Beach. Worth it.
This recording only sounds as good as the equipment it is played on. On my budget system it sounds somewhat thin. On my main, it opens up.
