If you're ready for the scare of a lifetime, try out Tecmo's Fatal Frame for the Microsoft Xbox. Based on a true story, the game follows twins Miku and Mafuyu Hinasaki in the year 1986. When Mafuyu decides to investigate a haunted mansion, he never returns home. His sister, the brave Miku, decides to explore this mansion and find her missing twin brother. What Miku doesn't expect is that the mansion is home to ghosts, demons, and other paranormal entities. On your adventure, you'll uncover just what happened at this abode that made the spirits so restless. This nine-hour game from developer Tecmo will have you on the edge of your seat throughout its entirety. Armed only with a flashlight, your character will explore room after room in this dilapidated house. Fixed angles and an intentionally dark environment make this game even scarier. Frequently, enemies and objects will burst out of the shadows to give you a fright. Controlling your character is a breeze as the 3-D movement makes it easy for you to navigate each room. As you explore, you'll find audio tapes and written diaries that shed some light on the story. You'll also find objects needed to complete puzzles along with health items. Throughout much of Fatal Frame, you'll need to don your thinking cap. The game provides players with lots of puzzles to solve with solutions being mandatory to progress further in the game. This Fatal Frame game for the Xbox isn't just about solving puzzles and exploring a spooky house. Eventually, evil ghosts will make an attempt on your life. If a ghost touches your character, you'll lose health. Lose all your health, and you're back to the last time you saved your game. However, developer Tecmo has provided you with a weapon you can use against the forces of evil: a camera. Dubbed the Camera Obscura, this device lets you capture any evil spirits you come across. Combat is easy to grasp and has a surprising amount of depth to it. Your objective is to focus your lens on a spirit for as long as possible to deal more damage. However, you'll need to constantly move when any spirits are nearby, creating a risk versus reward system. You'll find different types of film in your adventure, each of which does different amounts of damage. Every time you capture a spirit, you earn experience points, which you can use to level your character up. The camera isn't just a device used for combat. You'll frequently use it to solve puzzles as well. For example, taking a picture of a locked door will show you where on the map the key is located. With a release date in 2002, Fatal Frame for the Xbox is an attractive game to play. The ghosts have a transparent effect to them. Fatal Frame, developed by Tecmo, received a rating of T from the ESRB. It earned this rating due to its use of violence and the amount of blood and gore.     Something new to the horror genre

    Fatal Frame is definatly one of the better survival horror games out there. Also the fact its based on an actual story makes it even cooler. After her brother goes missing inside of a creepy old mansion, you step into the shoes of a young japanese girl named Miku. Who later goes looking for her brother inside of the mansion while fighting off hundreds of angry spirits along the way. What really sets this game apart from the others is the fact our main heroine doesnt use a gun, a sword, or flashy fighting moves which we commonly see in horror games to defend herself. Instead Miku is armed with a simple old camera which she uses to ward off the evil spirits that try to attack her. Fatal Frame is by far much better than Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Siren, and many other horror games ive played ...

    Scare with time!

    I love the introduction of this game when Miku says "My brother and I, we used to see things the normal people cannot see." Then the Tecmo logo in the screen. Fatal Frame was the first game that I played in PS2, now I am getting it for Xbox, the history I am sure is the same, I expect better graphics like Resident Evil did. Well, let's talk about game: If you like japanese culture, japanese girls and ghosts Fatal Frame is your title. Mafuyu goes to the Himuro Mansion for Mr. Takamine, and from there place he do not returns. His sister, Miku goes for him, there, she finds a girl named Kirie the most powerful ghost of the house, after get coursed by Kirie, Miku have to find his brother and get out of the mansion sooner as she could, now her life depends on this.     Great game, but high difficulty level

    I am two thirds through the game and enjoying every minute! The graphics are astounding for a X-Box game! The game play is revetting. However a word to the wise. There is no difficulty level you can set. Do not, and I repeat do not, be so naive as to think you are going to find a lot of health potions. The only way you can survive is to save health potions. You are going to need to do a lot of starting from where you left off to regain health potions that you lost. You need to have at least three full lives potions at all time to survive. That being said it is a great game! Update: Just completed the game! Another word to the wise. The saves are frequent and closely spaced so do not hesitate to start a section again and again.     Fatal Frame is SCARY!!!

    I was looking for a moody, atmospheric video game that would really scare me. Not just startle me with stuff jumping out of shadows--but get me in a creepy, tingly kind of mood like an old-fashioned horror movie. FATAL FRAME did it!! It tells a neat story of a girl trying to find information about her missing brother in a delapidated house--and in the process runs into ghosts and has visions of what may have happened to him. Big difference from all other video games--you have no weapon!! No gun, no laser, no fire--just a camera and film. Great fun and creepiness--shut off the lights, put on some headphones and be prepared to be scared!! One negative: you die too easily and then you start over--kind of a bummer. But worth it!!

    A really creepy game from beginning to end.

    This game will play with your mind. It's not a horror game that you shoot with guns or weapons. You use a camera to shoot the ghosts and the concept is to take a good shot at them to free the ghosts from the house. Its very creepy as it is based on a true story. This game was also believed to be haunted. I couldnt play it thru the end. It was just too creepy for me.
