Product Information

Backbreaker is an arcade-style American football game played with fictitious teams. Choose from over 60 teams or create a custom squad by selecting a helmet logo and uniform colors. You can then compete in a full 11-on-11 game against the computer or a friend. What distinguishes Backbreaker from other sports titles is its focus on the on-field dynamics. Powered by NaturalMotion's Euphoria engine, athletes on the field will rely on real-time, physics-based motions instead of scripted animation sequences. The result, the developers hope, will be a more fluid looking game on both sides of the ball. The presentation is also distinctive, with a camera that stays low to the field while following active players. Those new to football games will be able to rely on various AI assists and visual cues, such as a glowing red football, so they can read and react to the action more easily. Experienced players can switch these options off simply by toggling the "pro mode" control scheme. The game includes a customizable season mode complete with drafts, trades, and free agent signings. Head-to-head multiplayer support is also available in a choice of online or split-screen formats.

Best football game out there since NFL 2K5
This game is incredible. The game is nearly entirely physics-based with no predetermined animations or outcomes. The graphics are good too. The controls take a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it the game begins to feel like more of a simulation of real football than almost any other football game ever made. The customization is very deep. For example, I recreated the entire 2005 Indianapolis Colts roster, uniform, logo, and team name using the in-game editor. If you’re sick of EA’s monopoly and haven’t tried this, pick it up while you can! It’s discontinued and can be fairly pricey, but if you can nab one cheaply you should definitely do yourself a favor and buy Backbreaker!This game is incredible. If you are looking for an ultra-realistic football game, look no further. Despite the release of physics in Madden, this game still is the most realistic football game I have ever played. The animations are spectacular, no two ever look the same. Every hit is different. Pass and run blocking feels like it should, and players never get sucked into animation as with Madden. I also really like how the camera shifts behind each individual players, instead of zooming out to the entire team. The only thing I dislike is nobody plays online, and there isn't very many game modes. If you are thinking of getting this game, take my advice and get it! You can find it on eBay for as low as $5. Backbreaker Review
Great game. The physics engine is terrific, as advertised. The graphics are better than i had expected by a mile. The player models could use work themselves, as every player has the same general look/size and they all wear visors, but it doesn't draw away from the gameplay, which is where Backbreaker really shines.

seek out recent madden title
the game lets you run drills so you can practice the various moves in the game and various playstyle.you can pick your own teams from a list.your own uniforms,and stadiums tp play in also from a list.the game is not too bad,but to me it does not stand up to madden at all.i missed the real nfl teams.different way of playing,but it is still football,bottom line.
