A librarian and cat mystery series set in the South
All of the "Cat in the Stacks" mysteries (I have read only the first three so far) have been entertaining, but I highly recommend reading them in order. The series' central character, Charlie Harris, a librarian at Athena College in Athena, Mississippi, takes in a boarder in the first book (Murder Past Due), his son moves back from Texas and moves in with him in this second volume (Classified as Murder) and his daughter joins the cast in the third book (File M for Murder). It is easier to keep track of who is who when adding to the cast in order of appearance. Love Cats? Love Mysteries? This is the book for you!
This is the 2nd Cat in the Stacks Mystery book in the series (sometimes lovingly quoted as the Diesel series - the cat obviously). The animal & human characters have verve and make reading these often easy to solve mysteries a fun read. I don't always need to read Shakespeare, sometimes I just want a frivolous read...this is it!
