Released following the MMORPG's major overhaul in the fall of 2005, this bundle provides players with updated retail versions of the main game, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, and its first expansion pack, Jump to Lightspeed. Changes to the game were designed to make play more accessible for all sorts of online gamers, and this package is designed to make it easy for newcomers to jump straight into their Star Wars roles.<br><br>As in other online RPGs, Galaxies players begin by creating an online personality, choosing the character's race, appearance, and profession. The "massively multiplayer" game world is designed to allow players to follow in the footsteps of their favorite characters from the Star Wars films or discover all new possibilities playing as lesser-known races and classes.<br><br>With the Jump to Lightspeed expansion, players can pilot personal, interstellar spacecraft that allow them access to new species, new worlds, and new challenges in the far, far away galaxy. Accomplished player characters can gain access to a larger ship, which is intended to be operated by more than one person at a time.

Over 600 transactions and until this order, I've never left negative feedback. This seller was either grossly incompetent or did a bait and switch. I truly do not know which. Regardless, this order was never sent. The invoice for this order however arrived with another order (I had done 6 on 6.1.24 w/this seller). In trying to unravel this mess, seller's communication was disingenuous. To add insult to injury, this seller delayed refunding this botched order for days. Buyer beware ..

A Game Before it's Time, 20 years ago and still is in many ways
Imagine peoples love of Star Wars coupled with a current game engine. SWG was a game before its time. The open sandbox style has what other games lack. Freedom. No game on rails here, do what you want wherever you want and for how long you want. FB didn't invent the multiverse, SWG did. There are servers up today and setting it up is easy. Look up a SWG EMU and you will find the way. This is the game you are looking for....and did I mention no monthly fee? The cost of the disks, your electricity and time. Don't Waste your time and money!
I would suggest to you that you DO not buy this game. It has only around 80,000 accounts which is NOTHING compared to most other MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). They (Sony Online Entertainment) makes horrible decisions on the game and do not care about it. They just want your money. This game HAD alot of poetential but now it doesn't. There are alot of bugs that have been in the game for a long time. I really suggest do not buy this. If your thinking of getting this because it has to do with Star Wars, I would go with KOTOR series. If you looking at this as a MMO, go to World of Warcraft or the new Lord Of the Rings MMO that is coming out. Ok thats what my personal opinion of the game is, now for the unbiased review. Well first off it is based in the Star Wars world. Time period changes too much so I can not really say about what episodes. There are 9 "Iconic Classes". Jedi, Bounty Hunter, Officer, Spy, Medic, Entertainer, Crafter, Commando, and . There can be player built cities in this game (good luck finding enough people to make one). All the good gear is from NPC's (non-playable characters). You level the fastest by doing quest, PvP is ok, Medic is clearly the best class. There are about 9 planets, Naboo, Corellia, Tatooine, Dantooine, Dathmoir, Yavin IV, Endor, Mustafaar, Kashyyk, and I think that is it. There is space combat, and adventure. Anyone can wear any type of armor pretty much. Alot of things unbalanced. Updates about once every 3 months. Overall I say dont get it.

Upon release joystick functionality was introduced. Space is wide and vast and the play style was reminiscing of X-Wing command. Most of the bugs have been worked out and this expansion does add to the overall Star Wars feel. -About Star Wars Galaxies (Base Game) Star Wars Galaxies, was a smashing hit upon release but has since changed its format. At release the general conscience was that it is fun for PvP, Crafters, Soloist, and group oriented players alike. Today the Star Wars Galaxies players once loved is no more. Today you're either going to love it or hate it. Many of the core game dynamics that made it intriguing to users are gone. Once you could make a hybrid character mixing professions to make an all-your-own type of character, today you pick 1 of 9 character types and pretty much follow that throughout. The mystery and challenge of unlocking the Jedi is now gone, today you can simply opt to be a Jedi and go. While this has turned off a lot of the current players as well as former players, whom may have thought of coming back, it has also made things simpler and somewhat more balanced. The graphics and some of the dynamics the game introduced really are exceptional. Many of the new games coming out seem to have borrowed some of the things this game broke ground on. Speculation is the game has been simplified for possible release on X-Box, and PlayStation 2; much like other games such as Final Fantasy XI online. Star Wars Galaxies and Empire Divided, is no longer being made. However, to be current I felt it best to reflect on what was, and what is. Today if you want to play Star Wars Galaxies, you’ll need to buy the Star Wars Galaxies Starter Kit which marks the dawn of the game change. All in all, the game can be fun, its cheap enough to try and not like at only $19.99 Retail, if you do end up enjoying it that makes a heck of a bargain. Happy Gaming!

The worst Star Wars product I have ever purchased.
There's just not enough bad things I could say about this game. It is by far not only the worst Star Wars game I've ever played, it's the worst online game I've ever played. IT's a three year old game, and it but it was so filled with bugs, that it was pretty much unplayable. The combat system is like an FPS, but it's too laggy to be fun. The professions are all boring (and they had just finshed them...after three years of release?!) There's almost NO PEOPLE ONLINE PLAYING, I found about 3 people on 4+hours of mind nmbingly boring gameplay. and the worst part is, YOU HAVE TO PAY $30 A MONTH TO KEEP PLAYING!?!?!?! I think I'll keep playing GuildWars, it's fun, finished, and FREE to play after you buy the game. Lastly, SOE and thier ... There's just not enough bad things I could say about this game. Play for Free on Fan-run Servers
I had always want to play Galaxies but wasn't willing to pay the monthly fee as I knew I wouldn't be online enough to get my money's worth. Well now that SOE has discontinued the game there are fan-run servers like SWG-EMU where you can play for free! So I picked this up for cheap and I'm getting the SWG experience on my own terms. Plus the only people still around are the die-hards and they're super friendly even to a new guy like me.
