    British police procedural meets urban fantasy - AMAZING!

    The Rivers of London series is simply AMAZING! Midnight Riot introduces Peter Grant, a London constable just finishing his training and waiting for assignment to the boring paperwork unit -- until he meets a ghost while guarding the scene where a headless body is found. Of course his partner, the perky Leslie May doesn't believe him. He sets out to find the ghost and ends up as a wizard in training. Diverse, fun, snarky, British police procedural mixed with urban fantasy. Highly recommended -- well, unless F-bombs offend you LOL.

    Intersting, the 'modern' version of Harry Potter all grown up ?

    slightly odd / eclectic English fiction (if you are not sharp on English slang, may need to look up a few words lol), the 'real' wizzard(s) in England with references back to Hogwarts (different name).

    A little Terry Pratchett, a little Colin Dexter

    In that quintessential British way, these stories manage to be enthralling, amusing, intelligent and easy reading. The characters, both recurring and singletons, are novel yet rooted in their own lives.
