Product Information

Sessions of Skate take place in a fictitious world called San Vanelona and are designed to offer gamers a realistic skateboarding experience. Players pick from a roster of characters that include Danny Way and PJ Ladd, and then explore the city while using the triggers and analog sticks to perform a wide variety of tricks and jumps. The goal is to become a famous skater, unlock hidden skating areas, and anger the security guards in the "no skate" zones. Gamers must draw from their real-life skills as a way to improve their avatar instead of upgrading a character through missions to increase their abilities. Rather than placing ramps around the environment, EA invites gamers to explore the ledges, dropins, funboxes, and rails around the urban landscape. Because the game is intended to challenge players, a full replay mode allows gamers to view that sweet backside bigspin they finally landed. While reviewing their moves players can adjust the speed and camera angles and then save them for others to download.

    Good, but not exactly there.

    Skate is a great game with an awesome gaming experience and game story line. It is definitely a step up from games like "Tony Hawk's Underground" but it is still not great. When I first picked up Skate I was very impressed with its graphics and game play; But now that I have play for a wile there are some set backs. 1. It does not allow the player to get off the board. 2. The camera view cannot be changed, this makes riding harder. Pros: Great Game Play Good HD Graphics Well thought out story line Broad Cast Cons: Cannot get off board Cannot change Camera View Installing can cause issues with PS3 Graphics (Hard Reboot Required)

    The best of the skate trilogy

    Classic, the oldest skate in the current trilogy. For its age it’s beyond realistic for controls, the tricks are almost identical to perform as in real life. The brands and pros in the game are also the best of the 3 skates currently available. Really, this game was before its time.

    Great Game!

    Very satisfied with my purchase I bought this game for my son and he enjoys it very much now he has the complete collection skate 1-3 . Very satisfied will buy more titles in the future.

    A Skater's Dream

    Presentation- The story isn't very engaging, but it's a good thing because everything is relaxed, full of spirit, and funny. This game actually feels like a living skating community. Graphics- Details are amazing, but occasionally framerate issues and blurring can be a problem, but it's still great graphics. Sound- Good sound track, nice commentary, and the skating sounds just like it does in real life. Gameplay- Lots of new things to do and many awesome skating tricks. It's only missing a few flatland tricks and the challenge to maunal or grind correctly. Lasting Appeal- Story is short and can be completed quickly, but in general the game isn't really about objectives, its about skating, and if you love to skate, then you will keep coming back to this game.
