The three girls--who are cute to the point of distraction--are not the pride of Townsville like they are on TV. They are persecuted as "freaks" because they cannot control their special powers. Who could have predicted that a nuclear-powered game of tag would wreak havoc on Townsville? It's clear that the girls must redeem themselves, so they turn to the evil Mojo Jojo, unaware that he's the evil ape they will come to know and hate later.The animation's retro 1950s lounge-style background art, its impossibly vibrant and often-changing colors, and its eerie 3-D effects create a pleasingly cinematic feel. The result is a deeper, resonating picture. The filmmakers did not abandon the naďve style that gave the original POWERPUFF GIRLS television show its trademark charm, making the movie all the better.

Powerpuff Girls Movie Review
For nine years now, Craig McCracken has pleased loyal fans with three petite, young super-powered girls with both the responsibility to save Townsville and a bedtime curfew. Now, with this movie, you can see for yourself the things that transacted to turn the Powerpuff Girls into the heroes they are today. And few movies based on cartoons ever have or will turn out as good as this one did. Visually, the movie is just stunning. The shapes and figurines that compose the characters and objects, such as the circular shape of the Powerpuff Girls' heads, are consistent and almost realistic in appearance. The distinctive art style of the show, while slightly changed, stays true to its roots: Four-fingered hands, the aforementioned shapes, and the thick lines are still there. The color used is ... The distinctive art style of the show, while slightly changed, stays true to its roots: Four-fingered hands, the aforementioned shapes, and the thick lines are still there. The color used is impressive as well; each character, object, and environment is realized using appropriate pigmentation. Whatever mood you're supposed to feel is caught in the respective scenes in the forms of color- and sound, too. Sound-wise, this movie is just as good. The sound effects are in-synche with the motion of the objects that make them, such as the revving of vehicles or the bouncing of the ball during the tag sequence. The music is pretty good too, with a sort of techno-retro style to it during action sequences, piano during depressing scenes, etc. But the real juice, as far as sound goes, is the voice acting. Every single character who talks is brought to life with a voice actor with a distinctive voice, an unmistakable method of delivery, and an overall sense of feeling. The voice acting is so real, I actually do think it's the characters and not the voice actors talking. The bonus features are pretty good, but not as great as they could be. There is an audio commentary- which I'm always game for in a movie- the theatrical trailer, which I guess is worth watching in its own right, and a trailer for a few Powerpuff games out for release. What I really liked, though, were the character interviews. Five characters- Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, the Mayor of Townsville, and Mojo Jojo- each take a turn sitting in a couch or a chair and answer to an interviewer. The plot of the story is pretty good. There's actually not much to say about it, but I'll say this much- It's got a lot of action, quite a fair amount of humor, and just enough story. It's more than an hour long, and the story isn't rushed too quickly. Unlike many other cartoon-based movies, it isn't paced at the point of being boring to watch and impossible to keep up with. All-in-all, this product is certainly worth investigating. If you're already a fan, it's a must-have, and if you just happen to be in that stage when you are interested in the show but can't call yourself a fan just yet (like I was when I got this product), it is highly reccomended. Fun, entertaining and life lecturing
It does take place before the show, but it also have life lessons involving how to deal with others around you and many could use such an important lesson. It even has a few interesting themes for the soundtrack and interesting features.

an awesome buy for any fan of the show, these three little girls kick butt
I've been a fan of the show since it aired on TV for the first time in 1994, it is an awesome show and the movie is a must see for any fan of the show. everything about it makes it a awesome addition to any collection. the only thing i would chang is the DVD case it came in, for collection reasons. the case is a old school DVD case the ones where the artwork is the case itself, but with a good printer and a blank case you can make your own easy, so that's a small thing to mention, and the movie it self awesome!!I've been a fan of the show since it aired on TV for the first time in 1994, it is an awesome show and the movie is a must see for any fan of the show. everything about it makes it a awesome addition to any collection. the only thing i would chang is the DVD case it came in, for collection reasons. the case is a old school DVD case the ones where the artwork is the case itself, but with a good printer and a blank case you can make your own easy, so that's a small thing to mention, and the movie it self awesome!!

It's Hard to describe....
How AWESOME this movie is! While not the greatest animated film of 2002 (That honor I reserve for Lilo & Stitch, whose artistry and heart place it at the top of my list of greatest of all time) this little hyperactive gem is a close second. With the cutting-edge style seen in so much of Gendy's work, humor that isn't only enjoyable by all, but some that is ONLY accessible by adults (Look of the teenager who only speaks in rock song titles and lyrics), a great soundtrack including work by DEVO and some Indy artists, and an overall story about being accepted even though you're different, this origin story to the Award-winning Cartoon Network's staple series is one of those film's I find myself watching over and over again.How AWESOME this movie is! The Powerpuff Girls Rule!
What a cool group of kids! Those Powerpuff Girls keep trying to save the world daily and this movie offers us a glimpse into their heck-tit schedule. I mean, trying to balance a life at home, kindergarten, playtime - and all the things little girls need to grow-up well balanced just isn't easy. I recommend this DVD highly. I also recommend this seller as well. The condition of this DVD was incredible and we all quite enjoyed it.What a cool group of kids! Those Powerpuff Girls keep trying to save the world daily and this movie offers us a glimpse into their heck-tit schedule.
