The popular PC time-management game bakes its way to the Wii in Cake Mania: In the Mix! Players once again assume the role of Jill, a bored baker who, after using her speedy service and delicious pastries to save her grandparent's bakery, now longs for a new challenge. That challenge comes in the form of Risha, who needs help running her big-city operation, and Jack, whose underwater bakery is literally foundering. The classic time-management formula finds gamers using the Wii Remote to serve cakes as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to earn money for store upgrades and cake decorations. More Challenging that the PC Game
This version of Cake Mania was more challenging than the PC version because you have to incorporate the different buttons on the Wiimote rather than just clicking the mouse. At first it was annoying, but once I got the hang of it, I actually liked the challege that exceeded just clicking the mouse. The only problem I found was that a few times I would make the cake to specifications but the customer still would not accept it. Not sure it that is a glitch in the program, but it happened 3 or 4 times to me. Also, when you point and click you have to be very precise because the clients/frostings are very close to one another in some scenes and this can slow you down if you don't click in exactly the right spot. The graphics are great and it was cute to see my Mii show up as a customer in ... I figured this out when I got it but luckily I only played the online free version so it wouldn't let me get that far as to ruin the Wii game.

Nearly middle aged gamer, easily impressed.
I like the cake mania computer games so i was very excited to try out the cake mania for the wii. It has a different feel than the computer game but a similar look. The character does not seem to move as fast on the wii as she does on the computer game and it is more difficult to keep up. Keeping in mind that i have only played this game one time and just got it yesterday. I WILL be playing it again because it was pretty fun. Though I am 36 and pretty easily amused as I haven't really played many video games since the Atari. The 3d effects are pretty basic, similar to the computer game. Nothing like some of the stuff currently on the market. This game is very cartoonish....No SUPER JILL or anything. My kids think its lame. The story line of this game is pretty stale. If you are ... It's a fun, addicting, fast paced, challenging cake baking frenzy!
This game is lots of fun. It keeps you on your toes. It is much harder than the DSI cake mania. This game is better than the Dsi because you can play a single game or play with up to three other players. If you are playing a single player game, it is much more difficult. There are times when it seems impossible to get passed. You have to keep changing your method on what you buy and do, because of failing, to pass the level. Eventually, you get there. I have played with two players as well, and it is much easier, but you have to come up with the right strategy because it is possible to fail even then. People are very demanding on this game, and the level of patience is lower than on the dsi. This game takes more skill and should be played by older children. I play it with my 12 and 13 year ... I play it with my 12 and 13 year old daughters. If a younger child around 3 or 4 wanted to have their own profile, I say go for it. It doesn't hurt anything and a new profile can be made again. So, as for age, I guess you could say this game is appropriate for all ages, although the age is not appropriate for understanding the overall concept of this game. If you enjoy making cakes and the high energy of being rushed, then this game is for you. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys baking. It is a lot of fun.
