    Beverly Hills Dead by Stuart Woods

    I liked this book, but not as much as many of the others. A lot of the book was about people going & coming. Took a while to get into the story, but once I did, it was good. I have read all of Stuart Woods books, and think he is a wonderful author. I can read them so fast, as they are very interesting, and move along quite fast. I would recommend him to all avid readers. I bought this book at a great price, and will be watching for his next one.

    Beverly Hills Dead HARDCOVER BOOK

    If you are a fan of Stuart Woods, then be warned this is not an action book, in fact it is not up to his usual standards at all. The 1st part of the book goes into details about Hollywood after WWII, and then into the Communist witch hunts that blacklisted many of the people in the film industry. Late in the book a murder is introduced, but the story lacks suspense on all counts. I am not sure Mr. Woods meant this to be a social commentary or what, but it failed on everything else. I was disappointed in his last few books and was hoping for a great new suspense mystery from the man who brought us "White Cargo," "Santa Fe Rules," and "Palindrome," but apparently it isn't this book. It is an "okay" read, but nothing else. If you want a little history about Hollywood after WWII then read ...

    A Must For Stone Barrington Fans

    I loved this book! Typically low on character development, but a tight and cohesive story line takes us along on Vance Calder's rise to fame and fortune amidst the McCarthyism of the day. I read this one in 2 sittings and while I originally passed on it's predecessor, The Prince of Beverly Hills, it's on my to do list for this week! Beverly Hills Dead comes complete with the de rigueur appearance of Stone Barrington and I'll leave it to you to discover how that's accomplished in a 1940's setting. There are even a couple of shameless plugs that worked effortlessly on me, as I can't wait to reread L. A. Times and L. A. Dead. I'm looking forward (hopefully) to a sequel and I strongly encourage you to buy it before you read another "Stone Barrington Novel".

    Beverly Hills Dead by Stuart Woods (2008)

    This is another exciting book by Stuart Woods. As a mystery, it lends itself to great reading. I decided to buy it since I have read this author before and find his mysteries both impressive and enjoyable. If you are interested in mysteries this book is a must!
