À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Established at the dawn of the 1970s, Parliament and Funkadelic mix hard rock, psychedelia, soul, and funk in equal measure. Led by funk godfather George Clinton and buoyed by the liquid basslines of Bootsy Collins and the mind-melting guitar of Eddie Hazel, the two bands' brace of enormously influential albums cement their reputation as the most distinctive funk-rockers ever. This program finds Clinton and P-Funk performing at the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival with trademark over-the-top theatrics and a career-spanning selection of songs that includes "Bop Gun," "Flashlight," "Up for the Downstroke," and, of course, "Atomic Dog."

  • A Bit Worn In The Middle

I have been a die hard fan of Parliament/Funkadelic since the "Let Take It To The Stage" area of their saga. I have viewed/heard the ups and downs of George Clinton and company since the late 70's. This video represents a slimed down version of their mighty epic shows of the past. Many new members and faces I could not identify (was that Fuzzy Haskins?) Age has rusted the Funk quite a bit. Watching this video you can see George, et al. have descended into a sort of geriatric, calcium deficient, versions of their old selfs. Kudos to Bernie Worrell and especially Billy "Bass" Nelson, the only two original members (other than George) on that stage. Billy has always been a first class bassist, and after viewing this concert, I can see that age has done nothing but improved his ...

  • Though I'm not into this music now, It brings memories.

I use to be a R&B funk bass player and this concert was made after I changed styles of music. I bought it because I wanted to see was there anything new in their act. Actually, I found less because all the members had gotten "OLD". I guess we all grow old. It was a good buy.

  • Awesome Purchase

If you grew up with the P-Funk shound you can have a really good time with this DVD. The music is hip. Ireally thought I was there. My power to Sir Nose, Bootsy, and George Clinton

  • George Clinton is a master showman.

George Clinton is a phenomenom. Listen to Maggot Brain. I will say no more. I went to quite a few of his concerts. I will never forget them!

  • A class above the rest.

Saw George Clinton perform with Parliament Funkadelic at the Appollo Theatre in New York in fell in love with the group. They were pace-setters of a movement that was original. Awesome and like several American legends- a class by themselves.
