    Superb performances from Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep

    Sensitive and consistent performances from Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep make this an important film, set in an era when men's and women's roles were more traditional than today. The plot is simple, even predictable, but both principals bring shades of subtlety to the parts. Supporting cast is excellent, especially the child at the centre of the dispute. An important role for both principal actors in their careers. This is a film worth seeing and worth buying, as it bears more than one viewing.

    A great groundbreaking divorce film--

    The performances in this movie are top notch, and the plot engaging. In it, Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep play man and wife, and they separate. Seemingly out of nowhere, Mrs. Kramer wants a divorce. We watch sympathetically as Mr. Kramer struggles to get his kid to school on time, cook his meals, and everything else that mothers and fathers do. Especially heartwrenching is the effect the whole thing seems to have on the son, who has a hard time coping. When Streep's character reenters the picture and suddenly wants custody, the viewer feels heartbroken for Hoffman. The movie is realistic, and paints the picture of divorce that seemed to mushroom out of the 1970s.

    Wonderful Movie!

    A great add to my DVD library. Very strong performances by Meryl and Dustin. I already watched this film so long along, long enough that I forgot how this film ended...

    Superb

    Not many words needed: you combine 2 legends and a terrific supporting cast plus brilliant minds, there couldn't be any less than a masterpiece. No special effects, no violence, no supermodels. Just pure quality.

    One of the classics.

    Just has a great and story and surprising ending. The stars are so young.
